While I don't agree with this issue I think the environment needs to be effectively addressed by the right in some form

The McCain List.

The sad part is that an HillObama presidency would be massively ugly and destructive.

So... it’s between massively ugly and massively uglier.

some choice!

The only solution is to get involved locally and start electing conservatives with some backbone. We’re gonna need some strong warriors in the foxholes to fight these liberals, no matter what letter happens to be next to their name.

The fight over GW isn’t worth fighting.

The mind reels.

Those willing to cede any issue to liberals should get the hell out of the way and let fighters take over the game, unlike the limp-wristed, purse-swinging, bed-wetters who have run the RNC since the death of Lee Atwater.

Well said. Makes me wanna modify my tagline.

There was a time on FR when there weren't McCain apologists present and folks were actually fighting his global warming legislation....

Just the other day it dawned on me that the only "good" thing about this insane Election is that it's revealing the true colors of so many Freepers. Of course there's always a few infiltrators and dull knives in any type of forum, but dang!

Days such as this makes it seem as if the very foundation of the Freep is teetering.

Hopefully not.

While ther are many partisan hacks running around and liberal leaning folks,
I think they are outweighed by right-thinking freepers—at least I hope so.

Sad but true !.....How did it ever get this bad ? Seems like the US has been in a leftward moral and fiscal downslide all my life. Still love america though, just not crazy about the change

You want all or nothing and your fools game will get us NOTHING!

When have Conservatives EVER compromised beyond very certain, and well defined limits? Why would you expect us to do differently now, when the same thing has happened over and over?

It is the same as ever. If you wish for Conservative support, support Conservatives. It really is that simple. The Rinos have their way with the primaries, and then expect to beat the Conservatives into submission. It ain't gonna happen, and the blame rightly lays with those who chose that which we cannot abide.

Stubborn conservatives like you will eventually fall into one of two camps: Those who voted for McCain and those who wish that they had voted for McCain.

You are very mistaken. I sleep well at night. I vote my conscience, as this system requires of all of us.

Absolutly!
Everyone sensible can understand that Hussein Barack O. is a wordy lying croock wanting to look like a fake Messiah.
McCAIN has to be clever and cautious about hese speechs.

The guy is far from perfect but surely better on some big issues.
The sensible strategy,to my view,is to beat Obama and then put the pressure on the POTUS to make the right policy

"You are very mistaken. I sleep well at night. I vote my conscience, as this system requires of all of us."

I hold my ideology higher than party loyalty. For the first time since I voted for Reagan as a democRAT in 80' I may not vote for the GOP candidate. I will not be blamed for the disaster awaiting this Republic if John McCain is elected. Conservatives would be wise to distance themselves from John McCain and not be blamed when the inevitable collapse of our culture, liberty and standard of living, which will all go to hell under a John McCain administration.

Of course, I expect some idiot John McCain apologist to read that I will instead vote for a RAT in November.

My Congressman and two Senators from Texas still deserve my support 100%. I wish most Freepers could say that, but it is easier if you live in Texas.

Mark Levin was hammering McCain on this yesterday. I think McCain must have invested in AlGore’s carbon credit business scam.

Probably the most profound and important reply written on FR today!!!

What lends gobs of credibility to the scenario you provide is the preview we've endured here in CA with Governor Arnold Schwartzenfrauder who has endorsed McCain!!!

We have been perfectly positioned for this coup by the MSM/DBM who love both Juan McGore and Senor Schwartzenfrauder who claim to be "CONservative Republicans!"

It's grand larceny for either of these political hermaphrodites to claim any part of the Reagan Revolution, which both have done and I find it REVOLTING!!!

Our CA Republican legislators have been out voted by the Dem majority and at the same time, completely coerced by their faux Republican Governor who's made everything worse with massive future bondage for the children!!!

I hold my ideology higher than party loyalty.

As it should be- Folks back east seem to have lost the concept of 'rugged individualism' (to borrow from Rush Limbaugh), having obtained an herd mentality.

It is an unfortunate substitute for the uncanny ability of free and independent men to see things the same way, joined together by principle, rather than by some silly sense of popularity or expediency.

For the first time since I voted for Reagan as a democRAT in 80' I may not vote for the GOP candidate.

I am afraid I have gone quite a bit father. I have renounced the Republican party, as it is without conservatism, and strains to break the bonds that have held it fast to the traditions and honor of our fathers. Without it, they will certainly go the way of the Democrat party.

I will not be blamed for the disaster awaiting this Republic if John McCain is elected.

Unfortunately, you will. Bush, and McCain operate under the guise of Conservatism- So if elected, McCain's agenda will be supposed to be the Conservative model, in much the same way that RINO Republicans call themselves Conservative because they belong to the 'conservative' party.

In the likely event that McCain loses, you can bet that there will be no end to the gnashing of teeth, and the blame will fall squarely on the Conservatives who withheld their votes.

Of course, I expect some idiot John McCain apologist to read that I will instead vote for a RAT in November.

"Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice." -John Adams

Thanks for your reply.

Okay, you old Rino or former Rino! :)

Show us one documentation where McAin or Arnold the Greenator ever claimed to be conservative?

They never claimed to be conservatives, just Republicans.

I have been chastising McAin for about a decade for his so called moderate stances. In fact I even labeled him McAinal.

However, I don’t ever remember John claiming to be a conservative.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Nope, Ulysse presents the arguments of a blind loyalist.

Nothing wrong with partisans, mind you, but Republican partisans, especially those of the blindly loyal Republican kind are swimming with sharks on FreeRepublic.

Don't mind Republicans hopping around in a circle jerk on these threads, it's the silly season, but do mind when they begin to congratulate each other for their stupidity.

Like most conservatives, this account will do everything in its power to insure that liberals like Clinton, McCain or Obama are not elected to public office.

Both have declared repeatedly to be admirers and followers of the all-time Icon of conservatism... Ronald Wilson Reagan!!! That, my fine FRiend is calling one'self a conservative in my book. It's no different than being an admitted admirer and follower of Jesus Christ and identifying one's self, a christian!!!

I just got a mailer from Doug Ose that sports a magnificent picture of Ronald Reagan's face close up and then when you open it... It's that lame-ast liberal Doug the squanderer!!!

I just git pist at these pukes trying to kiss the hem of Ronald Reagan's garments!!! It's sickening when we all know what they've done to sully the memory of RWR!!!

Ose shouldn't be allowed to kiss the hem of John T. Doolittle's garments, let alone try to replace him in the house of Representatives!!! Good Lord!!! The obscenity!!!

Hell even Reagan’s enemies at times praise him.

My challenge to all Freepers when they claim that McAinal claimed to be a conservative, document it.

I never remember Governor Greenator even coming close to saying that. Again document it.

Both of these guys deserve to be brought up short on certain issues, but I don’t believe they have ever claimed to be conservative republicans.
