Denver, CO (LifeNews.com) -- Hours before she was slated to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic Party convention, Hillary Clinton took a shot at presidential candidate John McCain. She offered the preview of her speech at an event hosted by pro-abortion group Emily’s List that saw Michelle Obama participate as well.

"We need in the White House starting on January 20th Barack Obama and Joe Biden," Clinton said, endorsing the pro-abortion ticket......

I posted an update upthread just today on Karen Weber and a similar article. We have had little news about her and FV has linked to their website, but it was only now that we start getting updates.

It is worrisome but at least the mom still has a chance to regain guardianship. I shudder to think who might be advising the father.

What is Charlie up to??

..................................

TALLAHASSEE - Seizing an unprecedented opportunity to shape the Florida Supreme Court, Gov. Charlie Crist began wiping away the last remnant of Democratic power in Tallahassee on Thursday by naming the first of four justices he will appoint during the next year.

Crist, a Republican, handed conservatives a victory by choosing Lakeland appellate judge Charles Canady, 54, to an at-large seat on the seven-member court. He is expected to act on a second vacancy soon, and he will have two more to fill next year.

These justices could remain on the court for decades, deciding everything from death-penalty cases to whether amendments to the Florida Constitution can appear on the ballot.

"Gov. Crist now has an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Florida Supreme Court, much like President Bush has been able to do on the U.S. Supreme Court," said Morgan Streetman of The Federalist Society, a conservative legal group.

The court appointments also are a key political test for the centrist Crist. Conservatives quickly hailed the choice of Canady, a former U.S. House member who was an ardent abortion foe and a floor manager in the 1999 House impeachment of former President Clinton...................

McCain is sounding better, in this thread by wagglebee.

...................................

WASHINGTON, August 28, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The mainstream media has yet to notice, but Senator McCain last week directly accused Barack Obama of courting infanticide.  While the pro-life movement in the nation has been on the issue for weeks, McCain himself delivered the punch line in his radio address for August 23.

McCain noted Obama's vote against the Illinois version of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which McCain described as a "law to require medical care for babies who survive abortions."  McCain added to that description: "living, breathing babies whom Senator Obama described as, quote, 'previable.'"...................

No surprise here...a typical natural progression for the far left. Thread by wagglebee.

..............................

LONDON, August 28, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - "Very few people," says the head of Britain's leading pro-life organisation, "realise that the pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia lobby believes it can be right intentionally to kill innocent human beings." John Smeaton, Director of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, wrote that a report by a group of scientists, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), that said doctors should be able to remove organs from patients, even if this would cause the patient's death. "The essential line taken by the paper's authors is that it really doesn't matter whether the patient is dead or not." Smeaton wrote, "This new, further slide down the slippery slope of anti-life thinking is truly disturbing."

In the paper, heart transplant surgeons described how they simply "modified" the definition of death for three brain-damaged infants so they could justify removing their hearts for transplantation into three other infants who suffered from severe heart problems.....

Good for Nevada to protect patients from doctors with putting people down like pets on their mind. Maybe at risk people should move there so they can not be taken advantage of by the death care system such as it thrives in the Starvation State of Florida.

By now everyone has heard the news that broke yesterday morning. Those following our Terri Dailies threads through the fight for Lauren Richardson's life have noticed we would invoke Governor Sarah Palin as an antidote to the mindset held by cronies of Gov. Minner of Delaware. This great friend of people in similar straits to Terri would make a great leader in these times when hope had dimmed almost to dark. We were down to the most frail of hope that somehow good news would spring up in this valley of tears.

Sarah Palin is that great news.

Not only that, she is easy on the eyes (A babe!)and would let me keep all my guns!

Thread by wagglebee.

...........................

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Most Americans heard the name Sarah Palin for the first time on Friday as Senator John McCain named her as his running mate. They're getting a glimpse of the fact that the Alaska governor is pro-life on abortion, but what they may not know is she takes a unique approach to her position.

Palin is a member of Feminists for Life of America -- a venerable but little known pro-life group that focuses on the pro-woman reasons for opposing abortion.

The organization is considered an expert on understand how abortion hurts women and the complications abortion involves from a medical, physical and mental health standpoint.

Beyond that, Feminists for Life has championed the notion that one of the best ways to reduce abortion is to do the kind of work abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood should, but aren't doing -- namely, providing pregnant women with resources they need.

Feminists for Life has spearheaded efforts to make sure pregnant and parenting college students, who have the highest abortion rates in the nation, get tangible help like medical referrals, child-care and assistance in completing their education.

Palin, a mother of five, recognized the need to do more than say she opposes abortion and joined the organization.

As the euthanasia lovers peddle their wares, the also peddle soft words to make it all sound so cuddly. Dignity is one of their favorite words, even echoed in shallow thought by FReepers here sometimes. Recall, their favorite method of snuffing is through dehydration. Some dignity! Here is an example, not of euthanasia or suicide, but the effects of dehydration.

Now, to the thread by wagglebee...

.................................

The poison peddled by the euthanasia movement here in the United States continues to take its toll. Assisted suicide was legalized in Oregon in 1997, and pro-death advocates are now pushing hard to make it legal in the State of Washington. Initiative 1000 would allow any competent adult suffering from a terminal illness to make a written request for medication that the patient may self-administer to end his or her life.

The average reader would interpret Initiative 1000 as helping terminal patients commit suicide, plain and simple. But the euthanasia movement has tried to mask that plain truth with soothing euphemisms. Rather than acknowledging that the initiative promotes assisted suicide, the text states the "request" will allow the patient to end their life "in a humane and dignified manner."........

We personally know what Governor Palin went through with her child and it is why we recognized her as the one who would be a strong ally to Terri's Legacy. Thread by wagglebee.

Juneau, AK (LifeNews.com) -- As many as 80 percent of unborn children diagnosed with Down syndrome become victims of abortion, but Alaska Gov, Sarah Palin didn't let her child become a statistic. Palin, who has deeply-felt pro-life views, gave birth to her fifth child this week and the baby was diagnosed with the condition.

On Tuesday, Palin confirmed her baby, named Trig Paxson, has Down syndrome.

"Trig is beautiful and already adored by us," Palin said in a statement LifeNews.com obtained.

"We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives," she said...............

Michelle, pas belle...

Thread by wagglebee in a contrast to Governor Sarah Palin...

............................

“He’ll protect a woman’s freedom of choice, because government should have no say in whether or when a woman embraces the sacred responsibility of parenthood," she added.

The comment hearkens back to the remarks Barack Obama made in March, when he appeared to back a potential decision by his daughters to seek an abortion saying he wouldn't "punish" them with a baby.

"I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old," Obama said at the time. "I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."
