He definitely had foreknowledge of Wright's condemnation of America, Jews, and Whites.
If he were in a court room, any jury would find him guilty. Your point is
something that has yet to be asked, or explained..
You can view videos of past services at http://www.tucc.org/home.htm . You have to register first, though.
I watched the February 10, 2008 service “Where Is God When I’m Catching Hell.” It went on for hours before the Rev finally delivered his sermon. Before his sermon, it’s all singing and hugging. Very warm and fuzzy.
Here are some of the things he said while interspersing “hateration” (his term) with snippets from the Bible. It was quite a mashup of Bible quotes and hate Whitey/Bush/America:
He likened the US govt to the Pharoah who enslaved the Jews - the “United States of Egypt”. Talked a lot about Dred Scott decision.
“made them slaves to ...subprime mortgages, no health insurance, low self-esteem...”
“The King came up with a way to kill all the boys - justice system, miseducation...”
“You cannot help but have racism built into the Constitution.”
“Degradation, exploitation, hateration”
“allegedly hidden WMDs”
“No one person can change the evil system. That’s why the cry this year is ‘Yes, WE can.’”
Then he starts talking about himself and how unselfish he is: “I don’t want no Lear jet.... I don’t want no bling bling...And I caught hell from colored folk...and uninformed and clueless Caucasians. All I was trying to do was help somebody.”
“The hardest job in America is being a black man - guilty until proven innocent”
Then he starts riffing about the U.S. supporting opponents of the Nicaraguan Sandinistas: “All the lights were knocked out by the U.S. Navy.”
Sorry, but Obama HAS to know what this guy is spewing. The church Webcasts every Sunday and hasn’t bothered to edit the archived videos.
NO!
[snip] A visit to Wright's Trinity United is anything but Oprah-style friendly.
As I approached the entrance of the church before a recent Sunday service, a large young man in an expensive suit stepped out to block the doorway.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I came to hear Dr. Wright," I replied.
After an uncomfortable pause, the gentleman stepped aside.
On this particular July Sabbath morning, only a handful of white men aside from a few members of Obama's Secret Service detail were present among a congregation of approximately 2,500 people.
Where did I claim that political speech in a church is a God given right?
The IRS interpretation that political speech is not nonprofit speech is a perversion of the first amendment.
The role of the church is to speak truth to power. When the government constrains this fundamental function it is censoring religious practice.
We are intended to be a government of laws, not dictators. Political speech is specifically protected by the first amendment, attempts to limit it notwithstanding. It has priority over tax law.
