Atlanta is a pretty spread out place.
NWS doesn’t officially declare a tornado until a damage survey in the following days.
You can have incredibly powerful downdrafts that do a lot of damage - but the media will report them as tornadoes and never correct later.
However there was quite strong rotation on radar on this storm over Atlanta.
So true. No telling how many times America has been saved by Grace.
One big part of the CDC adjoins Emory.
They said a police officer at the hotel (omni?) saw a funnel cloud.
Do you consider the possibility that aliens from Epsilon Ceti are guiding some tornadoes on earth?
Very glad to hear no trees down where you are. Appreciate the first hand reports. So it looks like whatever hit - it was narrowly focused near the CNN bldg....and the Georgia Dome? Assume both of them are in S.East Atlanta?
Local TV not reporting any of the damage or injuries yet???? That is odd unless their power is out.
It wasn’t in Crosby about ..oh...about 25 or 26 years ago was it?
I switched over to CNN too when I saw a breaking story about CNN taking a direct hit, and after a minute, they switched over to that Obama interview. I immediately got sick, however, and had to change the channel. I can’t stand the sight of that guy.
Thank you for that report. funnel cloud = tornado - at least here in NC when a funnel cloud on the ground is reported - esp by LEO - that means “tornado confirmed”.
They reported apartment buildings that were damaged:

If God is, then "sometimes" God "happens." And I believe that while it is not for us to ascribe God, it is up to us whether or not we would be subject to what He does write into His reality.
Big deal... CNN is ALWAYS attacking conservatives/Christians. :^D
(You’re point is made, and it’s a doozie. I’m just joshing you.)
Neither can I - nor can I view the one who cannot be named....
And Anderson Cooper makes me ill....
sickening all of the lot....
What billionaire Republican consortium could buy CNN???
CNN is downtown next to the Georgia Dome, the area, and the new convention center. CDC is out near Emory.
Oh, and they also said some guy in his car downtown had his car lift up in the air and get thrown down the street, the car now being totalled.
NOPE!
No, both downtown.
Ok..ok..uncle lol.
No Georgia game tonight.
Fans leaving the dome.
