John Kasich - it just makes too much sense. Younger, more dynamic, TV-freindly, economy-friendly, Conservative-friendly, not creepy in Huckabee/Pat Robertson sort of way, Ohio.

It’s quite obvious that McCain will gain almost nothing politically by running with an African American. On the other hand, a young woman such as Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska would balance the ticket against any opponent. Her only possible political negative would be if she is perceived as not qualified to take over the Presidency if McCain should die. Anyway, McCain has almost 6 months to decide, and no reason at all to rush the decicion.
I like most everything I’ve read about Palin. But, I’ve tried to find videos which demonstrate her ability to deliver a speech, something where she tells what she has done in Alaska with a presence which motivates people to pull that lever.
So far, I’ve not found any. What I have found makes her appear — up and coming but not yet polished.
Anyone know any different?

The fact that Watts name is almost never mentioned by conservatives as a potential running mate without including his race is specifically why he won’t be chosen. It seems like pandering, regardless of how qualified he is. Perception is reality in politics.
So are you supporting Obama or Clinton, because those are your only 3 choices. A protest vote is not a vote for anyone, but a vote against someone.
I really don’t like McCain, but Clinton and Obama terrify me.

Comments like this one (”Canada has a free press?”) are not directed at any individual, but as part of an overall offensive of rude, antisocial commentary I think is far beneath the dignity and regular discourse of this site.
A friendly reminder that there are many Canadian FReepers, and we probably DO “get it” better than most Yanks do due to our LIVING the socialist nightmare might be in order.
Canada in NOT the enemy. Substitute “Jew(ish)”or “black” for the adjective in ANY anti-Canada post, and kindly tell me if there is no reason for offense. Matter of fact, we’re probably the best friend America has. We even share a common mother country! That mother country is ALSO aiding in the WOT.
