I’ve suggested Gov. Blunt, but you’re forgetting something. First, he’s not running for re-election which was a shock. Secondly, he failed miserably in giving Missouri to Romney, effectively ending Romney’s hopes for winning the nomination.

I nominate Alaskas Governor Palin: she would not only help repair the rift with the conservative base, she (and, for a moment, her husband) are rebuilding the base single handed you people crack me up, repair the rift? Most of us know what a VP does .......NOTHING. If a vp did anything Chaney would've talk some sense into W. the only ones concerned about chaney were the libs only because they thought they could oust him, not that he even does anything.

I predict McCain will select someone who is another slap in the face to conservatives.

I like the idea of J.C. Watts - it would certainly open the door for honest criticism of Obama (if he's the nominee) without drawing "racism" charges and then turn the tables if Hilly is the nominee - she and her veep choice could have the racism conundrum to deal with.
Of course that's only good because J.C. is a quality conservative with some brains to go along with it. Next to Obama the contrast would be clear - a dignified, intelligent, substantive man vs. a snake oil peddling charlatan. Without having another Black man to contrast Obama against, folks see the brown skin but miss the empty suit (and /commie/terrorist/Islamofascist leanings.

Ad hominem attacks are supposed to be frowned upon and discouraged on this site. Comments like this one (Canada has a free press?) are not directed at any individual, but as part of an overall offensive of rude, antisocial commentary I think is far beneath the dignity and regular discourse of this site.
LOL... censoring free speech? How... um.... North of the border of you.

Yeah, have the baby in May, drop it off at grandma’s, and then shoot off to run for Vice President.
That’ll sell.
To: Just A Nobody
I’m praising him. I’m saying he should run for Gov or Sen (as in this media age, being in Washington has its advantages when running for higher office) as a stepping stone to run for more.

Anything to beat Obama or another far left Dem. These are people who would come around significantly if brought to our side and at least allow conservative policy to be enacted in exchange for support. All three are more conservative than Rudy and than Romney was until he ran.

I have nothing against him, but he can’t infuse the race with a spark. AK’s Palin might. JC Watts would also do well and there are some others.

I think we’ve got the South as long as it’s someone who’s in line with Southern values. Most of the ones I mentioned are. JC Watts may be needed to spark national excitement and keep Southern values on the ticket.

I love Sen. Inhofe. I’m not sure how well it would play nationally.
I like the other suggestion but wouldn’t vote for her unless she had a gambling addiction. Too boring otherwise.

He was joking around and I think the comment was more directed at some of the Chretien era government stuff and the general views of liberal Torontonians. There are many great conservatives there and it would be a booming and wonderful country to live in if it would adopt some conservative policy. The new government there is taking important steps with the exception of the crime bill. Prison isn't a deterrent. It usually makes criminals more violent. Keeping them at home and sending them out to do menial labor during the day, for long ours, achieves fast results and less recidivism.

He’s also great, but he won’t excite national interest. Agree with the JC Watts suggestion.
