Yeah, I know, but most paintings of the battle use a lot of poetic license.Well, there's good reason for that. There's little to go on beyond textual information. And most graphical representations of the Alamo are guesses as to what the mission really looked like at the time. It just seemed that this particular painting encapsulated virtually the entire fight within a small area of focus. Interesting.
