Democrats will. With the mis-named Fairness Doctrine, and then a wave of political correctness, with the force of law. Its called dictatorship. And yes, it can happen here.
Democrats can't with strong Republican opposition.
There will be no opposition with McCain silencing the Party.
Read the dang article, will ya?

An excellent quote from a FReeper home page that is worthy of review:
" We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all."

The choice is to vote for a 3rd party candidate. People dont remember when voters sit it out or write in.....but people remember that Perot got 19% of the vote. Yeah, and how long do you expect conservatives to keep holding their damn noses every election?
I don't CARE if Hillary or Obama wins. My non-vote for McCain does not equal support for Hillary/Obama. I do not vote for liberals, regardless of political party.

but do vote. Personally I think it would be awesome if there were a concerted effort to win one state with a write in candidate just to send the message loud and clear.
I agree. If Ron Paul's people can raise $6 million in one day, real conservatives ought to be able coalesce around someone who will be the 2012 candidate. Those of us who know there is a difference between honorable compromise and voting for a traitor (McCain) should begin the discussion of who that might be.

"Besides, what other choice do you have?"
The problem is that the GOP is attempting to push us into a corner where we'll have to do something immoral, and this is where they're making the mistake.
Our choice is to tell them to POUND SAND and write-in the candidate of our choice.

I do not vote for liberals, regardless of political party. That's strange - you've been a vocal supporter of a moonbat leftist candidate throughout the election cycle - whose presence in the race allowed McCain to use his idiocy as a foil to boost his own prospects - and it worked.
To: calcowgirl
McCain is not a leftist. He may not be as conservative as we would like on some issues but his record is unmistakable when it comes to Taxes, spending, Pro-Life and no special rights for homosexuals. I never thought I’d vote for McCain but provided he moves right and chooses a conservative VP then I’ll vote for him. To say there is no difference between McCain and Obama is just a lie. Not liking him is fine but hating him is not an excuse to embrace defeat.

As a matter of fact, he doesn't even care about the Constitution....especially not when it concerns something as "trite" as the First Amendment....you know, McCain-Feingold.Lieberman-McCain, too! McCain is already digging in his heels and spitting in the face of conservatives, not only refusing to fight with the liberals, but championing their goals! Who will fight this if we have a President McCain?
What are McCain's views on global warming? (EXCERPT--published 2/16/08)The presumptive Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, swiped today at his two Democratic rivals' efforts on global warming and vowed to fend off pressure from conservatives in the GOP base for him to change his own positions on the issue.
In an interview, the Arizona senator insisted he has shown stronger leadership on the climate issue compared with either of the Democratic candidates, Sens. Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.
"They've never proposed any legislation," McCain said. "They've never been involved in any discussion or debate on that issue that I know of. I've been in a leadership role. That's dramatically different."
McCain's comments about the Democrats' global warming positions came less than an hour after he won endorsements from three top House Republicans, Minority Leader John Boenher of Ohio, Minority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri and conference Chairman Adam Putnam of Florida.
The three lawmakers' positions on climate policy differ starkly from McCain's, but the senator insisted public opinion is behind him and that he would not be swayed to change his own stance.

OK. It's John McCain vs. Karl Marx.
Take your choice and remember just how long it took for Russia to recover after Lenin took over. The answer is that they haven't recovered yet and won't in my lifetime.
And if you don't think Obama is the next Lenin or Marx you had better read up on his policy statements and his programs.
