So, in other words, he is the consummate politician and will be very electable? :)

I’m not sure if he knows the difference in the parties.

He is now an independent:

And he said he is an independent, not a Democrat as previously reported.

"The Republicans are full of it," Barkley said. "The Democrats are a little less full of it."

Barkley mouths off about politics and baseball

Charles Barkley is known for running his mouth about anything related to the NBA. In the March issue of Playboy, Sir Charles it taking the next step, revealing his opinion on everything from his choice for president to which TNT co-host he'd safe from a sinking ship.

"I'm voting for Barack Obama," he said matter-of-factly. "We are so lost and confused in the black community right now. All our kids want to be rappers or entertainers. We need to let them know they can be intelligent and articulate. It's a bigger picture than him running for president, to be honest with you."

In fact, not only is Barkley in favor of Obama, but there's no way he's voting for a Republican, saying, "There's no way in good conscience you can be a Republican right now. After what Bush and his cronies have done to America, there's no way you can honestly feel good about being a Republican."

Why all the political talk? As has been rumored in the past, Barkley is considering a run for governor of Alabama, a move that he would make without the support of African-American political leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

"I don't believe in them," Barkley said. "They always play the race card, and you can't always play the race card."

And it's not just politics that Barkley has an opinion about. He may not play basketball anymore, but he's still plugged in to sports, including the continuing controversy surrounding Barry Bonds and whether he should be in the Hall of Fame.

"Of course he should," Barkley said. "That's a no-brainer. And if the Baseball Hall of Fame accepts that baseball with an asterisk drawn on it, all the players should boycott the Hall of Fame."

And as for which co-host he'd save in a lifeboat? "That's the stupidest question I've ever been asked," Barkley said about Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson. "Kenny's obviously got no chance. Not only that, we'd probably take some of his body parts in case we couldn't get food — we could eat him a couple of days later."

Then he added, "Wait, it depends on the destination. If the boat is going to Miami to hang out, I might take Kenny. Ernie just wants to go to Dairy Queen all the damn time."

Dairy Queen may want to lobby a little harder for Ernie.

How low we've come that someone can run for GOVERNOR OF A STATE with no public service job experience or knowledge whatsoever.

Apparently it's all about "who will vote my way" instead of who will be competent.
