I’ll leave that up to you. I’d like Ann Coulter in that Spider Man chick’s body.

Beyond looking at the constitution party’s web site, no.

Their web site left me with the impression that they have an isolationist tendency. The one thing I support Bush on is the offensive approach to the war with Islamic jihadism.

We are also in an integrated global economy, whether we like it or not and that is not going to change. Since I think we can compete globally I am also not afraid of it. Both of these elements are my standing problem with Ron Paul also. They appear to be the logical place for the less extreme non libertarian Ron Paul type supporter.

I may be wrong about all of this, it is only an impression drawn from their web site. I much prefer Fred Thompson's federalist approach with an aggressive approach to the war on terrorism.

“2) You’d probably end up splitting the Republican party, insuring a defeat this year.”

McCain’s not doing that already.

Can’t wait until tomorrow to catch up with the latest but it’s off to work for tonight.

I agree with you but the fact is - we are not the majority right now as proven by the candidates, the results we are seeing for this next election.

Somehow, we have to have a way to identify the conservatives of the party. Everyone thinks they are conservative but each are on a varying scale from liberal to conservative. We need to know where we all stand so we can support the other conservatives.

Right now, we do not know anything and find out too late that the leading people in our party are moderates and they are making the decisions. So who are the conservatives that are going to work with us? We know we have Rush, Sean, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham but who on FR is really a conservative willing to work toward conservative goals? Who in the government is really a conservative?

If we don’t know - you can be sure the public does not have a clue. They think McCain is conservative.

He and his closest advisors allowed the remnants of a rump intelligence bureaucracy to remain in office. Their advice was not balanced. The Coughlin mess has been repeated over and over in this administration. They continually narrow their information sources to those with whom they already agree. They they claim they got bad advice. See Bob Spencer on any DoD panels on Islam?

No big surge of troops was needed and will not in the long run be productive. This is not a problem that can be solved top/down (or outside/in). When the tribes have control of their areas again, we will once again be the enemy. The Kurds (and Zinni) could have and in fact were taking the country from Saddam. The Powell State Department did not like it. Thus, thousands of US KIA. Who did that?

No, sitting this out at the Presidential level will just prevent this from happening for the next sixteen years.

The long view says, go for the most return. It is not linking the Conservative movement to the Bushies or the McCains of the world.

The conservative movement is already linked to the Bushes of the world. Too late for that.

No dem is going to be remotely as good a cinc as any republican.

Imaginary perfection in policy (with the supposedly better ones merely asserted, I note) can be alleged against any reality, but precisely for that reason it is a pointless standard. It does not distinguish between real alternatives, so it cannot guide action.

It would serve to draw votes off of McCain and nothing else.

Only principles should guide our actions, in my humble opinion. That is not the role of expediency, particularly in ordering our social interactions. An interfering military veteran (Carter) was not a better CINC than a nonveteran such as Reagan who based his decisions on principle and let the military do their jobs IMHO.

Anyone who thinks Obama is going to let the military do their jobs is delusional. He is going to make them drop everything and go home and stay there. Then he is going to let the Kennedy School of Government run the state department, and the same folks who gave us Iran 79 will run Iran 09.

> Lessee...Hmmmm....Two established major Leftist Political Parties against one new upstart Political Party. I’ll have to give that some thought.
Why upstart, why not just have all the conservative in the Republican Party just switch to the Conservative Party and put forth a genuine Conservative candidate.

You wish. If reality were sufficient for that, there wouldn't be a democratic party. They got away with defending people to gave atom bombs to Joe Stalin, defended people to lost China and blamed those who attacked them over it instead, lost wars then opposed winning them and pulled out defeat and called it what they wanted all along, and destroyed men who recovered those errors, were on the wrong side throughout the cold war and still held the presidency for 8 straight years immediately afterward.

The only thing more delusional than expecting Obama to be a decent president, is expecting his failure to doom democrats. If that were all it took, we wouldn't be here, and nobody would elect him in the first place. But they are about to, knowing full well what he is. Why? Because they don't like the reality they are living in and prefer to just make things up that sound nice, that's why.
