Three years after Terri's death, Florida is in crisis and Jeb is a has been.
The courts mandated nothing. They ruled that Michael Schiavo was the next of kin with the authority to make that decision, and not the parents. I don't want to wade into the endless arguments over that decision, but let's be accurate about it.
Cases like this happen in hospitals all over the country every day. If there is a living will, a power of attorney, or if all the family members are in agreement, there is no legal issue and they don't make the papers.
(minner the sinner?) How DARE she wear an Eagle pin. She's no freeper!
bttt
So, that's an excuse for murder now? Does Mom know how many Americans are permanently disabled? It does not mean they are SENT TO THE GALLOWS.
Terri had a civil right to live. Civil Right and religious right. Huffington shows what a lunatic she is again. Further, who’s obsessed about Terri? It’s the lunatic socialist/marxists. We’re just trying to counter the death care system. It’s not the health care system fo sure.
He was term-limited out of office, and left office with a 58% approval rating. Trying to make it sound as if the Schiavo case ended his career is a nice rhetorical flourish, but it just ain't so,
In fact, I'll take issue with the notion that Jeb is a has-been. He might have been a presidential candidate this year, but for the fact that the electorate is sick of Bushes. He would be a strong Senate candidate.

WTF? I don’t now how I managed to post that four times. I’ve seen 2 and 3, but this is a new one on me. Sorry.
Has been.
Well, if you repeat it, it must be true.
Jeb Bush cannot be pro-life cuz Terri was murdered by republican judges whom he pals around with in the Fla RNC of which he was the director. If a person proves they are not pro-life all the way, the only other selection is pro-euthanasia. Jeb sided with death cultists.
We do have a little thing called separation of powers in this country. I know some FReepers are still angry at Jeb because he did not override the courts, call out the National Guard to seize the hospice from the sheriff's deputies and marshals. Where I come from, respect for the law is a good thing in a public official.
Leaving aside the fact that your argument is absurd, those are reasons you will not vote for him. He remains popular among the other 18+ million Floridians. None of what you list is a reason he's a "has-been." If Martinez or Nelson opts not to run next time around, Jeb would be an almost unbeatable Senate candidate. Martinez is up in 2010 and Martinez in 2012, so Jeb has a shot in the next two elections.
Terri Schiavo will not be a significant issue in those elections. It looms large in some echo chambers, but for most Americans, and most Floridians, it was a tragedy that presented the hardest questions with no good choices and tore a family apart.
Please explain how the separation of powers means
the executive branch has to lay down for the judicial
branch.
Executive Authority: POTUS and Governors. It’s a check and balance so the judiciary doesn’t overstep which they did by murdering Terri.
