It would be a little more believable if they were turning to Romney as the only remaining hope after the real conservatives were driven from the race.
Unfortunately, however, it was National Review and Hugh Hewitt and a few others who sold their heritage for a mess of pottage and bought the Romney “electability” myth to begin with.
Now we’re down to two losers, largely because of their stupidity, and they want us to hop on board the Romney express.
I would agree that Romney is the lesser of two evils. But whose fault is it that we are in this mess? National Review, Hugh Hewitt, and a few others, including some of the Evangelical leaders who got into a snit about Fred, even though he is the closest of all the conservative candidates to their own positions. Huckabee? Don’t make me laugh.

Since when is Romney a conservative? Wasn’t he the Governor of Mass? Didn’t he sign an “assault weapons” ban?

Of course, its one thing to overlook one or two issues where a candidate seeking the Republican nomination as a conservative might depart from conservative orthodoxy. But in McCains case, adherence is the exception to the rule McCain-Feingold (restrictions on political speech), McCain-Kennedy (amnesty for illegal aliens), McCain-Kennedy-Edwards (trial lawyers bill of rights), McCain-Lieberman (global warming legislation), Gang of 14 (obstructing change to the filibuster rule for judicial nominations), the Bush tax cuts, and so forth. This is a record any liberal Democrat would proudly run on. Are we to overlook this record when selecting a Republican nominee to carry our message in the general election? This needs to be repeated.

Romney is a liberal.
What kind of sell-out "conservative" would rally for a phony used car salesman liberal like Mitt, whose single term as govenor brought gay marriage and socialized health care?

Compelling piece and a harsh slap of reality. McCain is using liberal blue collar mantra to attack Romney’s wealth and ties to business. Romney, at least, shows some sense of class and restraint against this little tyrant of a man. Romney is all that’s left to vote for and walk away with at least some sense of dignity intact. McCain might as well be Hillary, but he can’t beat her in the general election. At least Romney has a shot at winning the Presidency. McCain has nothing, except the Mexican patron elite and his can of strawberries.

Myth is as much Conservative as I am tall, dark, and handsome. :)
His past statements and positions line up and match exactly with his actions as Governor. Yet, people still want to believe, and make him out to be a Conservative.
It’s just more Mitt-ology from Myth Romney and Co.

Sorry Mark,
You list plenty of reasons to not vote for McCrazy, but NO reason to vote for Mutt Romney!
Huckabilly is a poor candidate that would likely lose but even He is better than Romney!

It was my honor and pleasure to cast my vote for Fred during the Iowa caucuses.
I don't envy the rest of you one little bit.
All I can say is I would NOT cast a vote for McCain anytime in the lifetime of this universe.
Godspeed

After 4 years of liberal rule by McCain Hillary or Obama, Mitt will be the Republican nominee and will win as did Reagan, who lost the nomination twice before winning in 1980. 2012.
