FairTaxPlan=3 Card Monty for the Public.
Mike Huckabee...who is that anyway??????
I thought Gomer had dropped out and was helping Juan McCain, as his “veep-in-waiting” or something like that...
Fair Tax probably won’t go over too big in Florida with retired folks.
My parents despise the idea.
I hope he can hold his dwindling base of voters, and keep them from going to McCain.
He was also bragging about his second place (who knew?) in the delegate count on Huck & Friends this morning.
Yep, Florida is the last place where you push that plan.
LOLOL! Huck and Freinds, too funny. They do give him and McCain free hype. They want to make sure we get the easist to beat MSM picked candidate.
Unless they spent their lives saving income that has already been taxed previous through income tax, and stands to be taxed at a monstrous rate again under the Fair Tax, should they actually try to spend any of it in their retirement.
I can think of few better ways to discourage savings and encourage inflation than the Fair Tax.
The Fair Tax plan is not a flat tax. Let’s get the facts right.
Huckabee is still in the race? Iowa seems a long time ago!
if we wanted untested ideas that threaten higher taxes we’d be democrats
so no thanks fairtaxers!
Only complete idiots think the plan being pushed by a 'buy my book" radio jock would work but, it's amazing to count how many such idiots are running around talking it up. ...and to think there's a serious presidential candidate campaigning on this folly... sheesh!
Because the Fair Tax plan is not a tax on income, but a Sales Tax, retired people are not taxed on what they get but on what they spend. Thus, those who get a good income when they retire will get it tax free. Also, a prebate check will be received to reimburse the sales taxes on basic purchases (i.e. groceries, etc.). Thus, retired people (and others) will receive an extra check to repay the taxes that they already pay when they buy products of necessity (today taxes paid by corporations are included in the costs of the products we buy, and these taxes are not reimbursed).
They do not trust it. This is all moot, because it isn’t going to happen. Waste of breath for this particular election as an issue.
In poll internals, Huckabee does extremely with voters 25-35 and does very well with voters 35-45. McCain does best with 65 and older crowd.
''Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American people'' -- H. L. Mencken
Applies to prez politics, too, although he said it in a different context.
He still cannot win. Huck is over. He is just hanging around like Edwards, even reminds me of Edwards, just to pick up some delegates to buy himself a job.
At least with 3 card Monty you know what you are up against.
 ;-)
