If there's no FRed and no Hunter and we're left with the four headless RINOs, then what?

“Rudy fails in all categories, McCain and Romney fail on guns, and all fail on borders. So I guess Huckabee has more to offer over the others at this point as he is at least pro-life and pro-gun.”
Good analysis. Makes sense to me.
If we can’t have Thompson, at least Huckabee is solid on the other issues. With the Border, a lot depends on popular pressure and public opinion. WHoever gets elected CAN be pressured to come over to our side, even if its through COngress. A LOT of Dems and independent voters are anti-illegal aliens.

and a RINO is all we had left on the R ticket, then what? What difference would it make to have Swartzeneggar or Bustamonte as California's Governor? S.B 777 and experience tells us not to vote for RINOs.
Perhaps the difference is in how long individuals are willing to keep compromising. As I see it, I didn't compromise in the last Presidential election as I think President Bush is a fine President. Of course he and I don't agree on everything and at the same time, I don't have access to all the information he has.
But, I won't compromise in the next election just as many Californian's didn't compromise in the last election for Governor. I'd rather make a stand than fall for anything. If it's G,R or M, I write my candidate in. I'm drawing a line in the sand.

If that were actually true, Dodge, the media would be blasting Conservatives non stop on their stations, and they would be encouraging voters to vote for them. They are not and refuse to. Look at who the media are espousing, and you know who they want to win.

Not a factor? Ask presidents Gore or Kerry. FR was very instrumental in outing Rather. That helped Bush. But I was referring to the general articles posted, FR postings and FR polls here in FR not holding sway, per se, among the voting population. People make up their minds based on what they see and hear from candidates directly, or filtedered, through TV mainly, and other mass media.

...which is not to say that FR has no effect. Every reader is affected and the Lord only knows what impact and ramifications that has! (Hopefully, as consistently as possible for the good.)
I do think that there too much complaining and not enough exploration of solutions. Also MUCH too much crap slinging. In some ways, that’s just what happens in Internet forums, but I agree with your sentiments:
We need to promote — and not form circular firing squads.
(Regarding Huckabee: sometimes even the vast majority of FReepers can be wrong.)

Same here but flip Rudy and Huck - for the simple reason that I think Rudy will be a better protector against terrorism.

The more I’m reading on Huck, the more I’m agreeing with you. I think the key will be how the WOT looks IF we have to make that decision. If everything is on the wind down, Huck’s social stances may be the deciding factor. If things are still ‘hot’, Rudy’s defense stand will be it. I hope we don’t have to worry about either.

No, it isn't. It's doing what political forums do. Its members are discussing issues and strategy.

I'm afraid I'd have to go Romney ahead of McCain. And it's my belief that conservatives may despise McCain, but conservative-voting women REALLY hate him. You may see conservative women not voting as dependably as they have in the past.
He's mean and he's crazy. I don't think he's reliable on the WOT either.
