McCain is my last choice of the GOP, but he does get the WOT. I disagree with him on many issues; but I disagree with Bush on issues also....

The troops have done their job on the battlefield, we have to do ours at the ballot box. Even if its distasteful to do so; war ain’t a 4th July picnic for the soldiers either.

Amen. I am in total agreement on all of the above,

I live in California, so my vote doesn’t count anyway.

For the primary, I’m voting Thompson.

I’ll be writing in Condoleeza Rice in the General Election.

I should have mentioned the ability of Pres. Clinton in combination with a Democrat Congress to start passing laws to make it more difficult for conservatives to take power in the future. Like reinstituting the Fairness Doctrine to hamstring conservative talk radio and requiring expensive detailed reporting by grass roots activists which popped up shortly after the Dems took control last year, and all kinds of other nonsense like that. That kind of thing will probably be among their highest priorities. Even above the war on terror.

Again, I don’t like him and will fight to keep him from getting the nomination. But we may be able to have some influence with McCain.

Some of you still amaze me by not recognizing what Hillary would do to this country. She will very quickly and forever change this country. The Clintons are a criminal enterprise. They are the political mafia of this country. The Republicans are the ones who told Nixon to leave. No one is going to tell her to leave. She will be able to do whatever she wants and will wield power as never envisioned in the Constitution. No one will be able to stop her. If people have to be threatened, blackmailed, intimidated, publicly ruined, or disappeared, it will happen. She is a true believer in her agenda. No law is going to stop her from doing what she wants. Do you believe for a moment that if she needed a Supreme Court justice to leave it would not happen?

I know full well what Hillary is capable of and what will happen to our country under a President Hillary.

I've just had enough of the continual march toward a liberal and globalist agenda that has been going on in the Republican Party since the day Reagan was forced to take Bush on as his VP.

It's sickening to watch people who consider themselves conservative refuse to get behind the only real conservative still viable... all because he's not got the looks & charm Hollywood has convinced them should be requirements for the Presidency.

Very sad to watch and I understand the disaster on the way. But don't kid yourself in getting McCain elected... it's a slower route to the exact same destination.

It’s not the same destination at all. We have the ability to fight and stand up to McCain. Hillary really is different. Dave Schippers called her evil incarnate.

"We have the ability to fight and stand up to McCain. "

You have the ability to fight right now, fight for a real conservative.... but before the primaries are even half way down, you're already compromising ona compromise.

This fight is already over and there are a whole lot of us who absolutely will not pull the lever for McCain so suit yourself.

How many times do I have to say it? I will fight to keep McCain from being the nominee. I have not given up anything.

I am fighting right now. You have accused me of compromising. That is a personal attack and a lie that I don’t appreciate. I haven’t compromised on anything.

If, however, it came down to the ultimate nightmare of bad beyond belief vs. that which would destroy my country, I am not going to just sit it out and allow the demonic woman sent here from the bowels of hell to have a free ride. If you choose to do that, she will appreciate your help. Maybe you will be one of those not ending up in the re-education camp.

You missed my point on judges. Of course, we'd all like to see Alito/Roberts/Thomas/Scalia types on the bench. If anything is going to sway me to vote for a RINO for President, that would be one of the factors. You probably didn't vote for Bush in 92.

I voted for Bush in '88 and '92, and Dole in '96.

I don't base my vote on liking or disliking the candidate personally.

My decision to not vote for McCain is based on his record. His votes against tax cuts, his previous staunch support for amnesty for illegal aliens, the Gang of 14, etc.

I think EVERYTHING is a big yawn to you.

You sir, with all of your hyperbole and ad hominem attacks, are what's making me yawn. I don't take kindly to having my patriotism questioned, as one who served in this country's military over eight years.

I remain unconvinced that a venal and condescending man such as John McCain should be handed the keys to the White House. I saw enough in the recent debates that led me to that conclusion, which was buttressed by numerous commentators.

You simply are not thinking straight, Trinity5 - if you are a true Republican - you will vote for whomever the party nominates, period. That candidate will have ‘some’ of the plank thinking and goals - we are all around to encourage even more plank thinking and goals - immigration is an example. True Republicans line up and vote, RINO’s do not.

Therefore, if you do not vote Republican - you are a RINO, you are not aligned with the party - you need to take the exit to never-never land.

If RINO’s like you - and there are more than a few posting here - do not vote Republican in mass, based on an inperfect Republican Candidate - one of the three democrats will be elected - if that happens - whatever follows is your fault - 4 to 8 years of terror.

So if Hillary jumps ship and becomes a Republican and receives the nomination for President, in your logic I should vote for her regardless? Would you have voted for David Duke for Republican Congressman when he was the candidate?

Gee - Maybe it's your fault for failing to nominate the best person, not the most electable. Principle does matter to a few of us.

It was just an observation. I did not realize John McCain was in that poor physical health.

I didn’t question your patriotism. I just pointed out there is the little matter of Iraq. Maybe your way of thinking about the election in some way puts Iraq - among other things - out of the picture. I don’t know since you haven’t said.

Well, congratulations!

"chunga" is still wrong. So are you.

He's been acting like an ass, so I treated him with contempt. You'll note that I discuss the matter more civilly with other posters.

Whoa there Pardner...you mean to tell me you've been here two whole years longer than me and you still don't know that it's considered bad form to talk about another poster without alerting him to the remark?

I have conducted this conversation in a far more civil manner than you. Your points consist of posting the symbols n, 0 and b repeatedly and your lack of civility is astonishing. You attempt to score points with mere bluster because your posts have no substance.

You haven't treated me with contempt...you have no idea what contempt is...in my case at Free Republic, it's reserved for cowards who talk smack about other posters without pinging them.

Grow a pair.

Ahhhh. Now we have raving lunatic. I like it. Try moonbat, in need of straight jacket, working toward electro shock therapy, demented, gone off the deep end, and in leave of his senses.

I will not vote for McCain. Beyond that statement I will have to wait to see what my other options are.
