Doug, love that picture of the Beest, but the one on the left is not immediately recognizable as Monica, surely there are ones without sunglasses, especially where she's wearing her trademark beret, that would convey the point more quickly.

One big question though--of course, we here at FR revile the 'Toons, but how does mention of Monica play around the country? Does it inspire the sucker-mom pity that enabled Shrillery to sell so many books? Or does the pity (if indeed there still is any) play in our favor, in that we don't elevate to leadership people we feel sorry for?

True, but when we (and the late night comedians, once they have writers to put words in their mouths!) make cracks about her, I’m curious as to whether that engenders sympathy, pity, or ridicule for Her Heinous. Maybe with the passage of a decade, its all faded, but I guess we will find out when the ten year anniversary of Clinton wagging his finger comes up in about four weeks. I expect that the media will not let that anniversary pass unnoticed.

Let's see.......a BI takes several months, sometimes up to a year. Parents, all addresses where you lived, schools, organizations, police records, DMV records, insurance, friends and neighbors, employment and tax returns.

Now, I find an expedited clearance for Monica a stretch but not implausible. A BI on Hillary would have resulted in a negative report and denial of clearance....too much baggage.

There was a Navy Captain and his XO at a COMSTA that ran the place but weren't cleared to even visit our spaces. Caused a lot of friction between the NSG and the regulars. C/W clearances were fully vetted and not a political favor or a reward for service.

Now, all kidding aside, Happy New Year, Dave and Bob!
