What I find the most amazing by all this “hate-Huckabee” is the extent that the haters will go to risk excluding those social conservatives who support him.

Don’t look now, but he is in the lead. And even if he drops 50%, he still has a sizable following.

I don’t see him splitting the conservative movement. That is the role of his haters.

Huckabee is another George W. Bush

As much as disagree with W on his compassionate conservate Medicare Part D entitlement program enhancement, No Bureaucrat or Teacher Left Behind Act and amnesty for illegals...Huck is not worthy to shine GW's shoes.

W stood up to the terrorists, vetoed SCHIP (which Huck would sign and then some), and cut taxes.

History shows that we can, in fact, help Americans to change, not by force-feeding them government restrictions or requirements but by first changing the attitudes and atmosphere in which we live. Eventually, having shifted public opinion, we can solidify the attitude and atmospheric changes with government actions that define the will of the majority.

Social engineering and sheeple control to save taxpayer money on healthcare is not a Conservative principle. When they come for you and your twinkie Norseman with the social engineering experiment, know that I will be somewhere laughing my ass off at you. Anti smoking is a social engineering experiment designed to coerce smokers to quit for their own good and they learned their lesson well to straighten you out.

I consider myself a social conservative and the last thing I want is a candidate like Huckabee.

Huckabee is one of those rare conservatives who can state conservative principles in a way that can be accepted by all but the extreme liberal part of the population.

And I'm telling you that I don't even want him in the primary any longer. He's a paternalist who wants to increase the nanny-state.

In fact, let’s run Obama vs. Huckabee with neither one playing “gotcha” and both making their respective cases. Huckabee will win in a walk because, as I said, this country is conservative at the core.

So, Huckabee will win if it is Obama he's running in the general with and if they run clean campaign against each other, right? Dude, did you know that the chances are very likely that Huckabee has a plan in place, right now, to ban the very substances that you've been smoking?

To prove this, though, we’ve got to run a candidate that can get significant black votes, Hispanic votes, teacher votes and union votes.

All politicians will pander but it is a very rare 'conservative' bird who backs a candidate that will actually say that that's what their preferred asshat is going to do. And just how will Huck try and get this hodgepodge of voting blocks to take an interest, what kind of 'conservative' principles will he be using?

Huckabee has already proven that he can do that, and I don’t believe it’s because he’s promising to sacrifice our liberty.

If he's planing to make his brand of change through government, damned straight he's going to curb liberties.

“I particularly enjoy the charge that Huckabee is not a fiscal conservative. LOL!

When I ask them WHO EXACTLY is a fiscal conservative in Washington today, all I get is silence. “

I’ll give you a name Gov Matt Blunt.

Cato ratings on fiscal issues put Romney 15th most fiscal conservative and put Huckabee 45th out of 50.... Huckster got an “F”, while Romney got a “C”.

Romney did very well compared with Huckster:

http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa581/reportcard_table.html
2006 term -

Romney was ranked 15th out of 50:
Mitt Romney (R) Massachusetts 55 C

Huckabee was ranked 45th out of 50:
Mike Huckabee (R) Arkansas 46 F

Cato is a tough grader.
THERE WAS ONLY ONE GOVERNOR WITH AN “A” RATING - MATT BLUNT.

MATT BLUNT IS ENDORSING MITT ROMNEY.

I’ll give you a name in DC who’s a fiscal conservative: Senator Tom Coburn.

Another one is Senator Jim DeMint.
