Somebody explain to me, why would any potential Republican voter would vote for Bloomberg? He’s more liberal than Giuliani.

OK, maybe he would draw off some of the Independent vote, which both candidates would need, but I think more Indies would be drawn from the Hildybeast’s pool than from whomever is the GOP candidate.

Maybe. But Bloomberg may run as a fiscal conservative but a social liberal. He might not actually have a proven history of such views, but he could claim this territory when the Republicans run a candidate with strong social conservative views (including pro-life), yet fail to address a perceived, if not actual, problem with the economy.

IMHO, if Bloomberg is serious about winning he would select Obama as his running mate and encourage Ron Paul to run as a “Libertarian.” In such a case with a fragmented electorate it is possible for him to prevail. If he would not prevail, as documented in the above posts he would end in ignominy any Republican chance.
