She is a true American Hero who will not soon be forgotten ... Her actions will be the center of many of our countries future discussions about guns and gun control. Amen.

Thank you for the beautiful, and appropriate, analogy.

According to Thomas Aquinas defending your neighbor against unjust violence is an act of Christian charity. Bears repeating.

Sounds to me like God answered her. My thoughts exactly, when I heard her say that.

If she had been at Virginia Tech, instead of the liberal morons in charge of VT and the liberal morons in the Virginia Legislature, who would have prevented her kind of security, over 30 people would be alive today instead of being dead at the hands of liberalism.
It is incredible that a Christian church has to have an armed guard when our borders are flooded with more and more murderous criminals, while Congress spends its valuable time doing nothing more than trying to outmaneuver each other for control of the power of politics.

May her tribe increaseand indeed, blessed will be the man who has the opportunity to call her his virtuous wife. Absolutely! She is a precious gem.

I suspect that Jeanne Assam is familiar with Psalm 27. Thank you, as well, for the gentle reminder.

She's got a double whammy. Not only is she an example of the virtues of the Second Amendment but also of the virtues of Christianity. Absolutely. Which places her in the right in the eyes of our Founders, and in the eyes of God. She's in good company! :)

I watched the whole news video online. God bless this humble lady who rose to the occasion to risk her own life to save so many others. How inspiring ...

If my kids were killed by him, I go after his entire immediate family, to send a message to any teenage or early twenties loser that if he does not care about himself, he better think about his parents, siblings, significant other and his own kids. Too many young losers think nothing will happen except to them only. When a couple of these losers hear that one of their own commits a crime and his family dies with him, they may have second thoughts. I can't at all agree with you.
I would understand, and share, your rage. But taking out your vengeance on innocent people would make you no better than the shooter himself. And vengeance itself is the Lord's, not ours.
What Assam did was self-defense, and defense of her fellow Christians. There is a world of difference between committing such justifiable violence, and committing violence of a vengeful sort.
Also, two other (much less significant, but still meaningful) considerations:
(1) I suspect that such deranged killers generally have very little concern for anyone else, their own families included. So I don't hold to your idea that such a person would have 'second thoughts' if he believed his family would be put in danger as a result of his actions.
(2) There are 'bad seeds' in this world -- deranged people who came from loving parents who are torn apart by their child's evil behaviors. Punishing such unfortunate parents even further would be an abomination.

I doubt that. Most of these angry spree killers don’t have much love for their families. Often, a spree will start with the gunman’s family. But even if they don’t kill their families themselves, the idea of their parents having to live with what their kid has done is an added incentive. So I doubt it’d be much of a deterrent.

What a miracle happened yesterday! I hadn't heard it called such, but you are so right. Jeanne Assam pretty much said that it was the Lord directing her thoughts and actions, and providing her the strength and wisdom to do what she did. That is indeed the stuff of which miracles are made.

God bless this humble lady who rose to the occasion to risk her own life to save so many others. How inspiring ... She is indeed an inspiration to us all. If we step back and reflect on what she did, and ask ourselves whether we would have had the courage, strength and wisdom to do the same, I daresay most of us would be found lacking.
