This is what I like about Giuliani. He goes after her relentlessly.
Spitzer in NY is getting ready to offer illegals licenses under the false pretense that the state needs to keep track of them. All he is doing is giving a big fat wet kiss to illegals. The next step will be that anybody who shows up will be allowed to vote in NY. NO proof of citizenship, no proof of residence, just the phony license issued by the state.
Licenses to illegals is a bad idea. If an illegal can prove that they are in fact illegal, the INS or Homeland Security or whatever agency should round them up, charge them with being illegally in the country and deport them. You wouldn’t give a bank robber the money because they got out of the bank so you don’t give licenses to illegals.
I think it’s a fantastic idea.....ahem....I mean...um....Senator Clinton is a disaster for the nation and this coddling of illegals proves it.

It’s been so long since I got my first license, I forget what proof of identity I had to show to obtain one. But it would seem that you would have to show a birth certificate, or some form of proof of birth to obtain a license. How else do they know that you’re who you say you are, and your vital statistics such as your DOB are what you say they are.

I know a lot of liberal Democrats from New York who hate Giuliani even more passionately than you do. Regardless of how you feel about him personally, you may end up having to vote for him in November of 2008 if he is the Republican nominee and the alternative is Hillary Rodham Clinton. I ask you in all sincerity to think this through.
Too bad he has no credibility on the issue, having filed lawsuits on behalf of illegals as mayor of New York and protecting them with sanctuary laws . This RINO shouldn’t be allowed to appear on a conservative talk show without having to explain why he went out of his way to coddle illegals in New York.
Opposition to Giuliani isn't personal. It's based on the fact he is liberal, a flip-flopper and man with no character that can't be trusted.

Former mayor Rudolph Giuliani sued all the way up to the Supreme Court to defend the city’s sanctuary policy against a 1996 federal law decreeing that cities could not prohibit their employees from cooperating with the INS. Oh yeah? said Giuliani; just watch me. The INS, he claimed, with what turned out to be grotesque irony, only aims to “terrorize people.” Though he lost in court, he remained defiant to the end. On September 5, 2001, his handpicked charter-revision committee ruled that New York could still require that its employees keep immigration information confidential to preserve trust between immigrants and government. Six days later, several visa-overstayers participated in the most devastating attack on the city and the country in history.
New York conveniently forgot the 1996 federal ban on sanctuary laws until a gang of five Mexicans—four of them illegal—abducted and brutally raped a 42-year-old mother of two near some railroad tracks in Queens. The NYPD had already arrested three of the illegal aliens numerous times for such crimes as assault, attempted robbery, criminal trespass, illegal gun possession, and drug offenses. The department had never notified the INS.

Interesting. Nothing about driver’s licenses, which was the topic at hand. Giuliani has repeated said that he believes illegal immigration is handled differently at the local level than the federal level. He said that in the 90s as well. I believe you’re mixing apples and oranges here.
Why on earth would you believe he is now suddenly someone dedicated to securing the borders?
It's as if a candidate's record and character are meaningless to those that want to live in a fantasy world and believe Giuliani is a conservative.
You present the possibility of an ugly choice. She’s much tougher than he is and also more masculine.
Giuliani Opposed Welfare Reform in Order to Protect Illegals
At the heart of the issue was an executive order by former New York City Mayor Ed Koch (D.) that had been reissued by successive Mayors David Dinkins (D.) and Giuliani. Executive Order 124 forbade city employees from telling federal authorities the immigration status of illegal aliens who sought social services.
On these grounds, Giuliani maintained that the welfare reform law violated the 10th Amendment of the Constitution.
In a speech he delivered Sept. 11, 1996, exactly five years before the massive terrorist attacks, Giuliani explained the dilemma. He said the welfare reform legislation contained “a provision that attempts to reverse an executive order that New York City has had in existence since 1988, which basically says that New York City will create a zone of protection for illegal and undocumented immigrants who are seeking the protection of the police or seeking medical services because they are sick or attempting to put their children in public schools so they can be educated.”
His reasoning was that by allowing illegal aliens to access social services, it would help make New York City cleaner and safer.
“Illegal and undocumented immigrants should be able to seek medical help without the threat of being reported, possibly deported,” Giuliani said in his Oct. 13, 1996, Mayor’s Address.
