With some (ahem) other degrees, you can make evil, nasty things that kill commies and Islamofascists :^) You can be even more effective at it when you mix certain disciplines. I wonder what he would think of that (hee, hee).

HEY!
I resent that...
Of course I have been in IT since before I even graduated...
I mean history is cool, but come on, I liked fast cars and slow women...

Lets see, he has debt because he wanted an education, but now that he is educated he wants to (maybe) save the world which is not a paying gig.
He is too good for 9to5 (what most of us call work)...
I myself majored in history. I am an IT professional have been since college. I helped feed some hungry kids three weeks ago. I pay my damned bills.
Maybe I should be his mentor.
here goes:
Hey sh*thead! Get off your a$$ and get a Freaking Job! If you still want to save the damn world after 8 hours of actual work, buy a homeless guy a burrito, but only after you pay your damn bills.
Glad I could help guide him a bit...

Upon graduating, I was helplessly launched headfirst into the real world, equipped with a degree in history and $32,000 in student loansI started college majoring in Oceanography. During school I asked about my employment potential in the future as well as earnings. I was told that there were no jobs for us and most end up in other fields. I took that advice and launched another career. To bad this little whiny turd didn't look ahead.
The real world is really tough.

Could I sacrifice my ideals by falling into line?

Why Yes, Ken, you Can! And for the same price, you could have gotten a degree that's actually WORTH something! I'm 24, and I have a degree in chemistry, with a minor in physics. Hands down, I'm making at least 10k more (with just a bachelors!) than all of my my friends who got liberal arts degree. I don't have my own home yet, (but probably will in a couple of years) but I've been out of the house since I was 19, and self supporting, including putting myself through school. I say Ken, quit whining and DO something about your situation.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Welcome to the real world, Ken.
What are you going to do when your parents die? I know that's a harsh way to look at it but the reality is that everyone dies.

his belief that he is better off unemployed than "compromising his integrity."
He has no integrity.

You ain’t too swift are you? I said that I moved out at 25, not 28! I got married at 28 which was considered very old for a first marriage at the time. I wasn’t clinging to anyone for support Doctor Fraud, I had joined the Navy straight out of high school and when I returned home my father was disabled with arthritis and my mother was going to nursing school at age 48 so that she could be the breadwinner, I stayed with them until they were back on their feet financially and then I moved two hours away to take a better job. Young men clinging to their parents for support don’t usually go straight from high school into the military. Don’t give up your day job, you will never make it as a psychologist!
