The DC10’s a running controversy. Some love it, some don’t. It has some value on a day like this when it’s the only fixed wing that can get off the ground. However, in a situation where it’s operating with traditional water-droppers it’s a pain, ‘cause you have to clear them out every time the 10 sets up to make a drop, and it lacks the nimbleness and forgiveness of the smaller aircraft. I have a feeling we’ll see a large ‘thud’ some time in the next season or so.
not sure, probably getting hammered with hits..

Witch Fire Information Line (619) 590-3160.
In recent years the threat risk for tornadoes have been categorized, so I do the following under the circumstances:
Slight risk: Go about my business with a keen eye to the sky and media.
Moderate risk: Cancel all unnecessary activities and stay inside. Monitor the weather.
High risk: Batten down the hatches and prepare the basement for storm mode. Keep the weather on, because something, somewhere is going to get demolished.
Tonight’s threat is minimal to slight. I will sleep upstairs unless the sirens go off.
Very much so.
Must get expensive....(ducking)
The DC-10 does make things bit more interesting in the choreography
A big thud
Did you see the DC-10 drop earlier at Lake Arrowhead. Looked like he was too hight and winds scattered the Phoscheck all over the countryside. What drop altitude do they prefer?
Hey,...Let’s talk about that Limo...I was dreaming about that last night!

I like those super scoppers that LA County has been using,...they seem to get down close to the ground also...
The SuperScoopers are always a controversy too...but they are always there! I heard a great argument with the CDF air boss over the Burbank Fire a couple year back. Classic.
Global Warming alarmists are *so happy*.....sickening...
*That is huge number for the that part of the nation *
We have 3 million+ in San Diego County.
There was also a huge amount evacuated in the 2003 fires.
Having so many fires in various areas of the County drives up the amount of people to evac.
Whoops....!
Red Flag all the way through to Wednesday?
OMG.......
