Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that..
looks like winds have died down in the San Diego area
Continuing updates on the Malibu fire from Times reporters on the scene
Having the teachers there can give the parents a chance to deal with issues like insurance, food and finding temporary housing while knowing that their children are being looked after.
It could just give the parents a chance to deal with their shock of losing their house without having to keep strong for the sake of their kids. Knowing everything you own is burning is a very helpless feeling.
Slide Fire. FFs regrouping south of Running Springs.
Fire burning now in Running Springs community 8(
That area is surrounded by NG and military. There is a Army NG center just down the road from the stadium.
I’d bet they’re helping out with cots, and food.

Several firefighters suffer minor injuries, two buildings were damaged and one destroyed, but no homes had burned by Monday evening. The fire was 30% contained.
I found a thread on the Witch Fires earlier, but no one had posted on it in hours. This thread seems to be working. I think most folks are interested in all the fires or have loved ones in one area or other.
I see the mod changed the title... so as you said, the thread now belongs to the COMMUNITY! lol.
Looter reported Grass Valley. Dispatcher alerting units with plate number of vehicle
My mom is in Encinitas so I’ve been watching for hours.

Well....that’s better than the one I put up....where did they hide that ?...
Funny they arent complaining about FEMA. Where is Anderson Cooper?
The City is requesting that no more food donations be delivered to the Qualcomm Stadium Evacuation Center for tonight only.
Enough food to serve the evacuees expected at Qualcomm Stadium this evening is already available on site. Food donations will be needed again beginning Tuesday morning.
The City is also seeking access to a refrigerated trailer so that donated food can be stored on site. More information about the Citys need for a refrigerated trailer can be obtained by calling 619-236-6167

You make good points. Thank you!
One of the things I hate about reporters hyping these stories is what it does to folks like you who are worried about a loved one. This type of fire generally takes out only houses within a block or so of a brush area. Even with houses on fire on both sides of the street, you can drive down the middle unharmed (I’ve done it). The deaths and injuries generally come from being asleep in the residence at the time the fire breaks out and getting overcome by smoke, running back into a burning house without any protective equipment, or getting trapped in the middle of the brush and having the fire blow over you. About the only physical risk in an urban evacuation is bad driving from distracted ‘flee-ers’.
The percentage of residences lost in urban areas that aren’t near a canyon is pretty small. We’ve spent the day today watching the Witch Creek fire burning across the wildland area to within about five blocks of us. We never got an evacuation order because the FD knew we weren’t at any real risk.
all evacuations lifted in Santa Clarita Valley area.
