Michael,
I understand why you and others are outraged by the Simpson Verdict of Not Guilty..

I believe something more horrific occurred to achieve that verdict than a misguided Jury or a good defense team.

I believe given the information as they were provided the Jury’s verdict was correct.

I believe the Prosecution Team knew full well if they were to successfully prosecute Simpson nothing much would change in their lives.. They would continue in their careers.. I believe they realized this was a chance for great fame and fortune. If it was televised, drawn out, overblown. If Simpson were to be found Not Guilty the controversy surrounding the case would propel them to national prominence, fame and fortune. IMO They carefully tossed the case.

If you take a look at the Prosecution Team it has done just that now hasn’t it? They all to my knowledge appear to have become quite wealthy and well known, book deals, TV appearances etc. So his Not Guilty verdict served them quite well.

That is a slightly different take then what I have long believed, but one that probably has equal validity, as my thoughts on the case. I do believe that it started at the top and was directed downward.

Gil Garcetti (sp?) shifted the case to LA from Santa Monica, for selfish reasons (The DA in Santa Monica was planning to run against him).

Judge Ito was a proved buffoon and totally controlled by the glamor.

There is definitely a lot of blame to pass around.
