I've gotta go. Nite.
Reminds me of a famous quote....
“Uncommon valor was a common virtue”
Thanks! I’m having one that looks a lot like that.
You have a good night, too!
I’m not sure about that. Wednesday has a negative personality! Shannon wants to be friends, but it’s not working very well so far! Of course, it’s only been a few days; at least they’re not actively fighting. Shannon had two littermates that were placed by the same animal-rescue group, so she’s used to playing with other kittens.
He waved back, and asked me to get to the table.
LOL!
Good guess Rottn!
Good night Folks.
:-)
Yoiks! Wednesday is probably a victim of the Monday Blues. Or PMS.
Shannon, however, needs to learn the boundaries of the MomCat, who has “Time-In-Grade,” It will all work out. Give them a few more weeks.
If Wednesday likes Anoreth’s Goth friend, it means the friend is honest and open. Cats can sense “evil,” as well as “good.”
She is a nice girl - just dresses funny and wears weird makeup. Cebu, it's nothing permanent!
Good Night FF!
Anoreth’s friend will find herself with a little encouragement. Maybe you should ask her if she wants to sit in on one of Anoreth’s classes?
It’s hard for teen girls to find role models, and even harder to believe in them.
Trust the cats.
We hope that Wednesday will show more energy under the influence of the kitten. That’s one reason we wanted a kitten, and also so we’d have someone to cuddle in the winter. You can’t cuddle Wednesday!
Anoreth’s friend used to be homeschooled, but she and her sisters had to go to public school, starting last year, because their father wasn’t paying enough child support to support them. The Goth look is a way of fitting in with a clique in high school, I think, although she dressed “originally” even when they were homeschooled.
Anoreth is a “safe” friend, because she’s not part of the high school social combat, although she knows students, including some of the social leaders, from church and Girl Scouts.
Perhaps Shannon will loosen Wednesday up a little and Wednesday will see that Shannon gets the “cuddles.” Don’t be surprised at the results!
I suspect Anoreth will be a positive influence for her friend. Especially if she’s (the friend) exposed to “family” enviroments. Perhaps Der Prinz could be a positive male role model.
As my ex-mother-in-law used to say, “it all comes out in the wash.”
Their father is not a bad man, I understand from the mother, and he’s quite involved with the girls. He’s just not a grownup.
Debbie, the mom, really likes the girls being friends with our daughters. She sometimes mentions how nice it is that Der Prinz and I work together to make things good for our children. I think she felt like she was going it alone even when she was married.
“Going it alone,” is hard, no matter where you are in your marriage.
The girl’s father may be “involved,” but there is nothing like “hands-on” to make a kid feel “necessary.”
Anything you can do to “adopt” that girl will go miles and miles towards making her feel she is worth “something.” And you can tell her (and Anoreth,) that I said so!
We’re doing all we can. We paid for both the teen girls to go on a ski trip with the Girl Scouts last year, and we’ve taken them and our two oldest to the movies and bowling. I’d even give them Wednesday, if it would help :-).
KEWEL!!!
We can never afford to lose a “girl,” and it sounds as though you are doing more than your share.
(Some moms are interchangeable...)
Wednesday would be aloof, no matter where she was placed! *LOL*
Good night, 'Face! I've been off for a few hours because the electric utility had us shut off all day while they repaired some of the residual damage from last December's windstorm, replacing the immediate patches with more substantial fixes.
I remember being a teenage girl - in addition to having one at home now! - and I remember not having enough money, too. I want to help!
My bedtime is here! I’ve got errands tomorrow for Girl Scouts, and we have to get ready for the neighborhood yard sale. We’re going to have a table for Republican Precinct Committee, Spanish Mass at St. Luke’s (for our Spanish-speaking shoppers :-), and Anoreth’s “magic” wands! We have signs to make!
(I lied)
G’night!
