Im predicting the eye will graze the south shore or come close. For an island 60 miles by 120 miles long thats going to hurt.

God Bless Them.

Ya’ll don’t shoot the messenger now

Well, I have to go to work for a couple of hours. No surprises while I'm gone, now, ok?

I did read somewhere that many tourists didn’t leave, and many Jamaicans are mimimizing the hurricane. How much of that is accurate, not sure.

LOL.

Since AF304's gone home, we won't have vortex data messages for a while. Going through the archives to get general motion over the 4 runs, but because the center fix was not good the last 2 runs, take this with a grain of salt:

- Between 8:19 am EDT (the only run with a good dropsone drop in the eye) and 1:01 pm EDT (the last run), motion was 282 degrees at 19.3 mph.
- Between 9:58 am (the last run without a comment about undercast making a center fix impossible) and 1:01 pm, motion was 282 degrees at 20.1 mph.
- Between 11:22 am and 1:01 pm, motion was 279 degrees at 18.9 mph.

Our beaches are totally different from when I grew up. You used to be able to drive anywhere you wanted. Now there's posts on the beach so you can't go there and condos on the beach that restrict traffic, scrapers that pick up the seaweed and with it all the driftwood, and far to many people! LOL

'Tis a half-hour old (we're 5 hours behind UTC, the East Coast's 4 hours back).

Suggestion; double-check the size of those graphics.

“I hope they’ll come through unscathed. It’s hard for many people to believe disaster can happen to them.”

You can already guess the name of their first son, nine months from now.

I was beginning to think the radar was not keeping up, but the storm has slowed slightly. MIMIC seems behind too.

The thing is, we’re too honorable to go around slinging mud; we just get the job done and get our backsides handed to us as a result. We seem not to know how to fight dirty like they do...Hey I’m glad we are above having the Carville/Begala types on our side, but today you don’t win many elections that way......
