We’re thinking about buying a new GM product soon...when the recession lets up.

Hell, this eight year Bush recession has GMAC offering 0% APR again.

“Nader charges this type of promotion may be against FCC laws requiring disclosure of payments for endorsements. “

I heard Rush was being sponsored by GM and he got some GM vehicles and the staff was enjoying them - I assumed he was getting compensated with vehicles and money. Did Nader assume he was pretending to do it for free? This is weird.

I’ve never understood why he went after GM when it was Ford that fired his sorry backside.

I am amazed they haven’t gone after Hannity who also speaks of Caddies and other Ameriacan made cars.

From what Rush has said, I get the impression that he has given all of the free vehicles to employees of the show. He has mentioned that he has owned Escalades for a while, but I’m fairly certain that they are driven by the staff at his house, because he has always said that he personally doesn’t like driving SUVs. As far as I know, Rush’s personal car is a Daimler Maybach.

Is Ralph Nader egotistical and stupid enough to believe he can take on Rush Limbaugh, one of the most influential and successful media personalities in history? A man who understands politics and media spin better than perhaps anyone on the American scene today? As a buddy of mine used to say, looks like Ralph Nader is about to let his mouth overload his ass. IMHO

FWIW ,, I owned a 1964 Corvair for about 10 years , it was a great car... The “unsafe” aspect of the Corvair that Nader harped about was the fact that it had “swing axles” which in extreme circumstances could provoke an axle jacking event and a rollover... at the time no car except the Corvette and the Jaguar E:type had a true IRS setup ,,,, swing axles were used on all Mercedes and VW’s in addition to dozens of other European cars... Axle jacking is dangerous and every car with swing axles WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE Corvair was at risk ,,, The Corvair had EXTRA safety features to prevent axle over-extension (depending on the year ,, shock absorbers with travel limiters and/or a transverse leaf spring and on the turbo models a physical CHAIN to limit the axle drop!) ... The only Corvairs that were dangerous were the ones in which the shock absorbers had been replaced with ones that didn’t have the travel limiters built in ,,, unfortunately 1955-1957 Chevy big car shocks were identical except for the lack of the limiters and if you went to “Joes Muffler and undercar” that’s what they installed because they were in stock and about $2 less than the correct shock..

GM should have sued the dogs**t out of this commie dirtbag when they had the chance.

I think ol' Ralphie may be on to something.

I've also heard Rush say nice things about Allen Brothers which sells meat products and by sheer coincidence also advertises on Rush's show.

Then there's a coffee company called Boca Java. Rush always talks about what great coffee they make and they also just happen to be an advertiser. Hmmmmmm....

Actually, now that I think about it. Maybe if Err America tried saying nice things about, Exxon, General Motors and Omaha Steaks and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals instead of trashing Big Oil, Big Auto, Big Food, and Big Drug they'd still be on the air.

But no-o-o-o-o-o......

Yo, Ralphie. Any compact fluorescents flickering on above your head?

Until he switched sponsors to another brand. I don’t recall which but perhaps Tetley??

Red Rose, maybe? I remember watching some show in the 50s with those annoying chimps dancing around while they mugged to that awful Red Rose Tea song...

Sheesh. That was about as obnoxious as watching Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi in a joint press conference.

Rush literally made Select Comfort beds the success they are today, it is a relatively big ticket item and nobody had ever heard of them before he started advertising for them. He also deserves a lot of credit for Snapple, but it’s a lot easier to sell a 99 cent bottle of tea than a $4000 air mattress.

Wow! Ralph is still alive?

Is that Limbaugh guy still alive?

AM radio is deadly, what with all the radiation and all.

Ralph is a paranoid kook and has been since the 1950s when he was a clerk in the US Labor Department. (He thought someone was tapping his phone.)

Standard "liberalism" - which is to say, "criticism, condemnation, and complaint."

Yes indeed. Oh, Boca Java also advertises on Randi Rhodes. How can that be?

I don't know that since I don't generally listen to Randi. But go to the Boca Java site and you will see that she is one of the radio hosts listed for the special deals.
