without even knowing what really happend

We know EXACTLY what happened - pretty clear, that the cop recklessly discharged his firarm, (NOT accidentally as in he dropped it and it went off, but recklessly in that he deliberately fired it without knowing what was downrange). I have to laud your hypocrisy for chiding someone about not knowing what happened and then saying (in the same punctionless sentence) that "this is destroying him " How could you possibly know this?

The only time I know of where cops were actually called to count for killing someone was recently in Atlanta where they murdered an old lady in a no knock raid on a house that they decided needed some raiding, and actually got a little jail time for it. The only reason that they got punished was that the cops were white and the old lady black and the majority of Atlanta is black and the city of Atlanta is a black run kelptocracy. If the old lady were white and the cops black they would have gotten a slap on the wrist and it would be back to business as usual. Actually it was back to business as usual for the upper echelons who were responsible for the whole thing even if they didn’t directly commit the act.

Nobody feels worse about this than the cop.

I'm pretty sure that the kids parents and grandparents feel worse.

I’m sure he’ll pay a big price beyond that

What price? Suspension with pay - is that a big price? Fired? Maybe, but probably not. In any event, he's still alive to look for other employment. Jail time, you think? I doubt it, but I've been wrong in guessing the future before.

What happens if you bop a snake on the head with a nightstick?

Is there anything the Simpsons haven't covered?

the price he will pay is something more than the physical it will be mental because he has a good character unlike some of you and the amount of training is relevant he was told what to do and guided through the whole process so it is relevant. someday you cop haters will be cowering in a closet and be whispering to 911 to please send a policeman i hope he knows your cop hating ignorant people so maybe he will stop and have a dough-nut first. it was an accident the out come could not have been imagined unlike some of you so called noble gun rights people would like to portray.

so if i get into an argument with someone and totally make the mad to the limit and he goes home and beats his wife to death you are saying i should go to prison with him. all of our actions have outcomes we never predict or imagine are possible and your looking back at there tragedy with hind sight. if you were there you probably would have done the same thing.

That is what i’m talking about you make stupid statements with out even knowing the facts. You assumed it was a ludicrous statement with no possible true connection to his feelings. you were wrong again. “How could you possibly know this?” Because i know him.

You defend a cop who killed a child, attack the posters who say the cop should be punished, and then throw in an insult about gun owners? Are you a cop or just an ordinary moron?

Cop haters? So cops should be allowed to go around killing children? To me, people who defend cops no matter what they do are depressing.

Criminal negligence isn’t the same as deliberate criminal behavior, but it’s still criminal.

#70 tends to indicate he is a cop and signed up here yesterday to defend his cop buddy.

cop haters will be cowering in a closet

LOL Besides being nearly illiterate, you really are a @$$hole (guess the word) aren't you? Any old day I need a cop will be the day after the day they bury me.

he will stop and have a dough-nut first

Yep, going be his record, I'm sure he will if he's still a cop, but with any luck he will be employed in a capacity where he doesn't have the ability to endanger others (like maybe stamping out license plates)

it was an accident

It was NOT AN ACCIDENT. It was NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE. An ACCIDENT would have been if he dropped the gun and it went off when it hit the floor. An ACCIDENT would have been if the trigger sear failed and the gun went off on its own. But this hero deliberately put his finger on the trigger, squeezed, and fired at an object up in the air WITHOUT MAKING SURE OF WHAT WAS DOWNRANGE. That my friend is the definition of NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE. An accident is when the gun goes off wihtout a finger on the trigger.

if you were there you probably would have done the same thing.

No. I'm a life-long gun enthusiast, hunter, and recreational shooter, and I never shoot unless I'm certain of my backstop.

This cop should have been at least as careful as I would have been, and I'm just some civilian.

Because i know him.

So you're not looking at this objectively - like everyone one this forum hadn't come to that conclusion with your first post.

The guy you know killed a kid. He didn't mean to, it wasn't malicious, he would like very much not to have done it...but it happened because the guy made a mistake. Not an accident, a mistake. Operator error. Negligence.

Ordinary people go to jail for that.

That was my surmise, also. Small-town cops tend to be the bottom of the barrel, either young Barney Fife wanna-bes or lazy old men who don’t want a real job. The lazy old men are much better cops, as they are too lazy to do much damage.
