You could probably glance at the specific census tracts in the county to see where the more populous White and Black areas are, although of the only 3 incorporated communities in the county (Ashland, the county seat; Hickory Flat, at the south end of the county; and Snow Lake Shores, which is apparently near Ashland, but I can’t find on a road atlas) all are overwhelmingly White, between 80-97%.
I noticed the last time Benton voted GOP in a Presidential election was 1984.

The Farese Law Firm employees are the clients...

Hey, at least they have *a* stoplight.
Quitman County (where I’m from originally) can make no such claim.

Well, it was undercover. Trust the media to be untrustworthy.

So.... If the AG a rat, he isn’t looking at rat fraud, right?
To: Lancey Howard
Rat fraud ? Heavens, no. What’s rat fraud ? Rats are as pure as the wind-driven snow. That’s what the media tells me.

Funny, I live in Ashland and have never had any trouble out of the people in Benton county. As a matter of fact the town is around 85.10% White.

Highway 72 runs thru the Northern part of the County as per previous posts...the majority of the white population lives in the Southern part of the county...the county is 67% White/33% black and you yourself notes the county seat is predominantly white. The population around 72 in the Northern part of the county is mostly black...as for any trouble with citizens of Benton County, I have had mixed experiences with them....like the man from Benton County that wondered into a nursing home here and shot a woman to death.
Any county in NE Mississippi that is predominantly Democrat is going to have a significant number of voter fraud and government fraud (medicare/farmers) issues.
I see you signed up to the FR today....8-3-07....

I lived just over the boarder in Tennessee, but much of my business was in Benton County...Farmers, government, and businesses. I ran the mobile phone and other radio services prior to Cellular.
There are a lot of good people in Benton, but I admit it is
pretty low on the totem pole in culture and services.
It was about 30 years ago when I helped a friend who was running for sheriff of Benton. I was a pole watcher for him in the village of Michigan City and at that time vote buying with the blacks was common. It took only a half pint or a few beers to have a voter declare that he needed someone to go in the booth with him. Needless to say, my friend lost.

The same for Tippah and Alcorn County. I have seen ballot boxes shopped around after the voting was stopped. Don’t forget that the State Line Mob and that mentality predominates in NE Mississippi and because we are so far from Jackson, the criminal Democrat fraud machine works almost with impunity. The trial lawyers also put a great amount of money into the local elections here because they can buy a representative here cheaper with just as much say than they can in the more populous counties.
