It just keeps on keepin on. Silly season gets earlier every year :)

Newman’s status up in the air? to RCR? #12-Ryan Newman’s future continues to be a question mark in the NASCAR garage [Jayski note: Newman is signed with Penske at least thru 2008], and it’s not clear if he will be back with car owner Roger Penske next season. If not, Newman could become a candidate for the fourth Richard Childress team.(Winston Salem Journal)(7-26-2007)

Then Shrub could go to Penske with his brother.

Pat, I am taking your advice :) thanks!!!!

Going to take half of next year to figure out who went where. Who's on First?

This sounds pretty cool........from Jayski......

ESPN Draft Track Technology Will Allow NASCAR Fans to 'See the Air': For years, NASCAR fans have heard about the effects of drafting on high-speed racetracks and how certain drivers, such as the late Dale Earnhardt, were so good in the draft it was said they could "see the air." Now, as Nextel Cup racing returns to ESPN with Sunday's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, a technical innovation developed by ESPN and SportVision will allow fans to see the air when they watch ESPN's coverage of the Nextel Cup and Busch Series. Beginning with Sunday's telecast of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, ESPN will enhance its NASCAR coverage with Draft Track, a special effects package that will provide to viewers a never-before-seen effect that shows airflow created by NASCAR race cars. When ESPN's producers activate Draft Track, viewers will see air flowing over and behind race cars as they speed around the track, whether there is one car or a multi-car pack on the television screen. The Draft Track airflow visualization will change as the cars, in relation each other, change position in real time on the racetrack, including passing, racing side by side or when cars are lined up nose to tail. The new effect will initially be used on replays. (ESPN PR), see a demo of the technology on the ESPN site.(7-25-2007)

First I've heard anything about it.

Hey Mac, I’m really looking forward to that.

I wish they had that linked to my car just awhile ago trying to get home around the flood that happened when I was in the grocery store. :)

This is an interesting article about many different subjects of interest to all.

NASCAR merger means Earnhardt’s No. 8 available

See how things work out?

With Wednesday’s announced merger of Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Bobby Ginn Racing, the new entity has control of Nextel Cup cars No. 01, No. 1, No. 13, No. 14 and No. 15.

Kind of makes No. 8 an odd fit, doesn’t it?

As for the merger, Teresa Earnhardt found the suitor who fit her needs. She will keep control and her late husband’s name on the door of the company they founded together, but she’ll move into Ginn’s place four miles down the road in Mooresville, NC. His shop is bigger and brand new and it has a seven post shaker (a suspension dynamometer) that is all the rage. Really, the big mechanical device has become an extremely expensive must have if you want to be a front running team in any form of motor sports.

Getting Mark Martin under DEI’s banner for the remainder of the season is the public relations move that helps ease minds fretting over the departure at season’s end of the red-headed stepson Dale Earnhardt Jr., AKA the most popular race driver in the United States. ESPN reports that Martin already has committed to 22 races for DEI next season.Sponsors are going to like this — and Budweiser is still out there dangling on the end of the line.

Kyle Busch would complete the picture when he makes his announcement in a week or two about where he’s going to drive next season. He has said his choice is between DEI, Richard Childress Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Evernham Motorsports.

Martin sharing the 01 with Aric Almirola, Martin Truex in the No. 1, Busch in the No. 14, and Paul Menard in the No. 15?

I was wrong Wednesday night on Rob Pascoe’s “On the Track” NASCAR talk radio show on WDFN when I repeated speculation about Kenny Wallace’s Furniture Row team buying the No. 13 to obtain the top 35 guaranteed starting honors. Apparently the No. 13 is officially “parked,” which moves the Woods Brothers No. 21 into the valuable 35th owner’s points. Bill Elliott will continue in the Ford this weekend at Indy and Ken Schrader will be in the Bam Racing No. 49. At the next stop in Pocono, who knows?

With Ginn dismissing Joe Nemechek and Sterling Marlin, Regan Smith will be driving Ginn’s truck in the Craftsman series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday night instead of in the Brickyard 400.

Running out of money is never fun. Moving in with the widow might be a blast. :) Good luck!

I have a sneaking suspicion that the owners' musical chairs aren't done yet. Paul Newman and Carl Haas are about to come in NASCAR with Yates.

Time for some Semi-scientific Wild-A$$ed Guesses:

- If Newman leaves Penske, that'll free Penske up to buy into/out Evernham and create a 4-car Dodge team.
- I just don't see the Wood Brothers hanging on as a 1-car team especially with Jon Wood doing the Rick Mast thing (I'm thinking at least a merge with RYR, and perhaps the 5th Roush Fenway team).
- Gene Haas has that new treadmill to dangle out to either RCR or Gibbs.

Watched a bunch of the Rolex GT racing over the weekend and apparently these guys are going to take a run at NASCAR next season. Should be interesting.

Gurney, Fogarty Record Fifth Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype Win at Barber Motorsports Park

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 22, 2007) -- The No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Pontiac Riley of Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty pulled within one victory of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve single-season Daytona Prototype record with a 6.033-second win in Sunday's Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant at Barber Motorsports Park.

That treadmill he's got is very impressive. I mean REALLY impressive!!

I think if Newman bolts Penske could get Montoya and the other Busch brother and Ganassi will fall on the floor laughing.

Jon Wood with ADD and Rick Mast who retired because of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Newman Haas Racing is extremely competitive and a well run business as far as I know.....they should be an asset to Nascar. My dog loves Newmans oraganic dog cookies too. :)

Kyle Busch to JGR? Larry McReynolds is hearing that the Kyle Busch deal at Joe Gibbs Racing is very close. Now, we don't have an answer on whether they're looking to put him in the #18 car, replacing J.J. Yeley, or if they are looking at Busch for a fourth team.(FoxSports)

SAY WHAT?

Maybe Joe is going to pay him to stay home although he has managed to stay in the top ten despite his driving handicap...

It seems that shrub is still in play at DEI although I saw where he was not feeling the love from them in an article somewhere.

ESPN's coverage starting this weekend, butting heads with Speed coverage, etc. Interesting.

ESPN surrounded by Speed at Indy

Don't mess with Race Day or I'll sic Jimmy "Mongo" Spencer on ya!
