Thank you for that. It’s frustrating trying to have a reasoned discussion with unreasonable people. I’ve offered to buy a steak dinner to one of these individuals once they’ve managed to round up all of the illegal immigrants and thrown them out of the country. I don’t think I’ll hold my breath while I wait.

I’m done with this argument. Some here seem to think that I’m pro-illegal immigration, when I’ve stated over and over I’m not. So, I’m through. I’m not answering these inane posts any longer. If someone wants to have a reasoned and rational dialogue I’m ready.

I’m puzzled. You post that to me as if I’m a proponent of granting amnesty to illegals. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is nobody on this web site, or any other, who is more opposed to illegals being given anything...jobs, social services, legal status, education benefits, or even a taxpayer-funded ride home...than me.
I absolutely hate the notion that one illegal alien might ever be granted citizenship status, and that millions of children of illegals are granted citizenship via anchor-baby “rights.”

You are exactly right. In Texas we have a some working in the farming arena but many more work in the feedlots, meat packing plants, etc. Any place that requires manual labor is where they will be. If you don’t have farming or the above then the number is greatly reduced.

We also did this kind of work. My dad worked in the oil field and also had our farm. He worked on the farm in the morning then turned it over to us (my brother and I) in the afternoon when he went to his oil field job. The three of us did all the work and didn’t need hired hands of any kind. We did the hoeing, plowing, harvesting, feeding the cattle, branding cattle, etc. ourselves. Welfare has ruined this country. The people that used to do the work that the illegals are doing find it more profitable and easier than having to work for a living. We would have never considered getting on public assistance. We were raised to take care of ourselves and let others do the same. We didn’t have much more than the bare necessities but at least we could hold our head up and know that what we had came from our efforts and not from the efforts of someone else.

No you don’t. It takes someone that has had the proper training and experience. I know that my dad didn’t just turn me loose on his tractor without letting me sit with him on it and drive it for little distances until finally he was confident that I knew how to operate it and then turned me loose to do the plowing, etc..
