Thanks. I didn’t realize it was all the work of one individual.

Why should they have something on the google China site? Do you want them to start celebrating Chinese holidays on our google? The Chinese have 3 times as many people, so maybe they should do it.

"The eagle approximates the second G in "Google." If the eagle were flying to the reader's right, it would spell "Gooqle.""
Of course.
As an aside, did you know the Y in the NYT logo is backwards?

I'm pretty sure that Google has had a special graphic for every July 4th going back a few years.

Do you want them to start celebrating Chinese holidays on our google? You were being sarcastic, right? Google celebrates the Chinese new year every year here in America. Those Chinese graphics above are from the last few years.

Yes. I'm a believer in recognizing behavior that approximates a desired behavior, in this case marking US patriotic holidays. I find that it provides quicker and more creative change in the desired direction.
I hope that this will be more productive than say, bitching because Memorial Day went unmarked.
If you have the occasion, try this little experiment: when your kid is learning to write they will have him/her make scores of pages with nothing but the same letter written over and over and over.
This is boring and frustrating for the kid, and all they ever hear about is the letters that aren't up to snuff.
When (not if) they come to you with tears of frustration in their little eyes and declare that they will never get it right ask them to see some of their work.
Go over it with them and ignore every 'bad' letter point at the best ones and say something like. 'What do you mean you'll never get it? That's a perfect B, that's a perfect m, there's a perfect, this f is exactly right...'
'Just make more like these and you've got it!'
The results are amazing...

While we’re at it the descender on the lower case typeset g is backwards in many typefaces, as it attaches on the left side of the circle...

They should have it carrying a baseball bat, like in the Ramones logo.

Do they do anything besides the Chinese new year?
