You know where you shove your d*mn lib comment, don't you?

Hit a nerve? You've done nothing but post about the cars being punished. It's an inconsequential object that these kids have invested their egos into. They are also used as bragging rights by gangs. Your angst is misplaced.

Now, since you ignored it, why not enlighten us all into what else should fall under this great program you advocate? Surely someone as outspoken and enlightened as you could think of dozens of ways big government can make our lives better by expanding this program.

Your question has no merit since it's an assumption. I believe in the rule of law. I believe there are some people who need "incentives" to conform to the rules that protect society. These street racers need that incentive.

You have 3 times ignored that their cars cannot be confiscated without prior convictions for serious crimes. That provision puts a crimp in your "OMG!" argument.

You are a fear monger of the worst sort. This will not snowball. No one will lose their house for a shed violation. These kids ignore the law. They need SOMETHING to get their attention. This is a 2003 law. Apparently it hasn't been used before or it wouldn't have made the news. I hope it works. As for being too harsh, they used to hang horse thieves. Crushing the car of a repeat offender doesn't rise to "cruel and unusual" punishment.

why not enlighten us all into what else should fall under this great program you advocate?

I'm not the one that thought up the nightmare scenarios, you did. This law that was passed in 2003 applies to nothing but street racers. And it's not a "program", it's a punishment under the law. Remember the link?

I'm done with you. Frightened hand-flappers can't be reasoned with and facts are ignored by them.

Goodnight.

Hit a nerve? Hardly! Funny that you can say You've done nothing but post about the cars being punished, and then mention they used to hang horse thieves.

Best I recall from my history, they hung the horse thief, not the horse.

My question has no merit to you because thinking and seeing that our liberties are gradually disappearing under rules that protect society means nothing, until it might affect you, which just may be too late to save them.

Yes, I believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness with a minimum of big government interference, that qualifes me as a fear monger of the worst sort! And of course this won't snowball, just as seat belt laws didn't, smoking bans aren't, free speech isn't under assault on talk radio and through hate speech, gun owner rights isn't under assault, SUV's and Luxury cars aren't under assault, and much, much more. Yes, we have been fear mongering all along as we spoke out against big government intrusion into rules that protect society in those areas, too.

Progressives, Liberals, Socialists and Moderate RINO's have been rolling over for decades, all in favor of rules that protect society and each time, we hear the same canards, This will not snowball!

You can try to divert my question all you wish, but you need to remove the blinders and see that what I ask is very relevant. Once something is decided to be of such a benefit to society, as you claim this punishment is, it should be utilized elsewhere for an equal benefit to society. It's been happening for decades, ever so gradually.

Just think back to your own analogy of the horse thief. The thief paid the price, not the horse.

Bleeding hearts never cease to amaze me.
