“We are in sync on many items. Unfortunately, he’s in sync with Teddy on a few.”

Not anymore. Read. Bush is listening and the RATS are running. He is going with the fence first approach and the RATS don’t know what to do so they called for a quick vote to kill this.

But the best part is, the President put McCain out of his misery.

A. Harvesting embryo’s is Nazi pseudo science and is pushed by the abortion at all costs crowd.

B. Even if it worked (it has not produced one success, while other stem cell research not involving embryonic
harvesting has produced results) A. above still applies.

Giuliani is in favor of expanding federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Another reason to reject him in the primaries.

Those embryos are killed because of in vitro fertilization and they still will be killed whether we cut off research or not.The consistent position is to oppose both or neither. The politically easy position of opposing only one doesn’t help anything.

You bring up a very good point and one that I've tried to get answered here on FR in the past. If the belief is that these embryos are, morally, of the same value as any other human life, then why doesn't the president (and other pro-lifers) support banning private sector procedures that either cause, or lead to, the destruction of human embryos? If one supports banning abortion, it would logically follow that one would support legal protection for embryos outside of the womb as well. Why is the killing of embryos ok when a private-sector scientist does it, but not when a woman does?
