Rest In Peace, Mr. Tonkin. I only post occasionally, but I have read FR everyday for years. Mr. Tonkin was one of my favorite Freepers. God Bless his family.

Although I never met him in “real” life, his thoughtful responses to my posts told me much about him: a thinker, a man who cares, deeply, and one who will be missed by all who knew him.

Prayers for Tonkin and his family and loved ones.

amom:

Tonk was an institution here at FR. Please accept our fondest gratitude to you & his cherished family for all the joy with which you were able to enrich his wonderful life, and our deepest thanks for the love & strength you provided to him as he was leaving it.

And may all the warm memories of the many blessings with which he surely filled your hearts while he was here comfort you & keep you until you get to see him again!

Please accept also our prayers for you, amom, & for all those who loved Tonk, that God will guide you as gently as possible through your grief in the days ahead.

Knew this day was coming, but it’s still sad. At least he’s not suffering anymore. Prayers for his family.

I rarely post, but had to say good bye to someone who was so kind and such a support to those of us with loved ones serving both on the homefront and in the sandbox. Thank you for YOUR service and God speed Tonk!
