I spent five years in Minot (USAF). My wife is born and bred North Dakotan. We now live in California.

Sorry, but your post is a big fat strawman.
Conservatism is a movement that welcomes debate and ideas, not a movement that squelches it.
Imagine for a moment that Hillary Clinton, as part of her "conversation" with the American people, asks a room full of liberals who their dream candidate would be. And imagine some guy in the back, a guy wearing a Dean 2004 T-shirt and a deadly serious look, raises his hand and says, "What the Democrats need to win isn't you or Obama. You need to run Tom Tancredo." Does that make any sense? Should the Hildebeest even begin to take that guy's opinion seriously?
we're talking about the conservative movement here, not the "Run a guy who said he and Bill Clinton share a lot of policy views" movement.
Then there's this:
Suppose Tancredo is the only one that meets the criteria and will only get 5% of the vote, do we have to vote for him?? Isnt that political suicide??
I'm not sure I've even seen anyone supporting tancredo on this board lately. There's a technical term in political science for someone who thinks a poll nine months out from the primaries means anything. The word is "gullible."
When Rudy supporters act as if he's the only guy who has a shance of beating the anointed Dem, it means that they have no idea how elections work, or that they are insulting the intelligence of their fellow Freepers.

In retrospect, it’s a shame Jim didn’t “swiftboat” George Chaucey Gardiner Bush back in ‘99.

On the key issue: Abortion; G, R, and T have all been outspokenly pro-choice in previous campaigns. No, that's not true about Thompson. That claim has been debunked.

America’s at war, faced with enemies at home and abroad. Hell of a time for an ideological purge.

However, when first running for office in '94, he did a say he thought the "ultimate decision rested with the woman." For me, that takes him out of the 100% category. That's on the word of one reporter. A guy with a 0% NARAL record is a pro-life as pro-life gets.

Right now, Im hoping for Fred, but what good does it do us to drag down anyone on our side???? With all due respect, what do you think the primary process is for? It's to separate the chaff from the wheat. Rudy is chaff.

Much like your opus from the moment it was posted, Rudy Giuliani's run for President was dead on arrival. Take that from a Second Amendment commentator who, like all other 2AM activists at FREE REPUBLIC and beyond, know the real deal about Giuliani.
Nice man. Handled New York in the wake of 9/11 well. But once the silent mainstream like me (those who never seem to be interviewed for these "authoritative polls" we always read about) put the word out within our spheres of influence, he'll be heading back to those big city liberal haunts so out of touch with the rest of America.
Giuliani and friends just don't realize it yet. But they will.
Sorry.

I will probably seem like a wet balnket, but I found out at a safety conference that poor woman broke her leg in two places (one fracture was compound) with several broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
On the good news front, the guy in the "guy gets crushed by a tumbling SUV at a crosswalk" wasn't killed and fully recovered. Car hit him just right, knocked him down and mostly missed him.

Who was the coward that folded and ran away in the face of Hillary in 2000? I think Rudy sucks, but your out of line. The guy had cancer.
