>> I don’t have a candidate as of right now.

Given the ones out there, it's a clear sign of intelligence and moral responsibility not to have a candidate yet :-) I have my own fantasy candidate and he'd win against anyone out there. The problem is that he has no idea he's interested in politics, much less that he should run for the Republican candidacy :-) I haven't the heart to tell him, either. It might wreck his life. Probably would.

... denial that hotlinking graphics from another's website is theft was the biggest eye opener, particularly in light of the holier-than-thou religious taunts in so many of posts.

(Removed name because it isn't important to my question)

Do people here think hotlinking is really an issue of law? I think I hot-link all the time, I just put an html piece in my comments referencing the location of a picture and sometimes it shows up, I use "img src=".

I'm not stealing anything, I'm linking a picture. If the owner of the picture doesn't want it to come to my site, they can make that happen. Any browser is allowed to go ask a site for a file, and if that site doesn't want to provide a file they can block it.

So, is it stealing to hotlink a picture, or not?

Hi EV

Jedward thinks that you lost your credibility when you admitted you were a lobbyist — he thinks a paid lobbyist shouldn’t be, well, posting like a regular freeper or something. Also the thing about giving slack because of race, but I think it’s mostly about the lobbyist thing.

Would you mind explaining that to Jedwards and the forum?

I’d like to bow out right here so I can go to bed.

JimRob, I notice you were pinged earlier in the exchange so I’m pinging you as well. Please allow me to put in a plug for LOCKING THE THREAD. Well, let’s see how this plays out...

There's an old rule for conservatives: "When we elect one of our people to office, he stops being one of our people."

We do better staying on the outside and sniping. Any editorialist will tell you the same -- it's much more fun to be in the opposition, potting away at the incumbents. The scandal-a-day Clinton years were marvelous from that point of view. We had such fun here in FR :-)

The trolls twist stuff to meet their need to personally destroy me.

Not that it matters in the least, but I’m not that kind of “lobbyist,” ie one who works for clients to seek the advancement of their special financial interest with the government [like Fred Thompson was for decades?].

I’m a “lobbyist” because I run a tax reform organization, and if you want to try and influence legislation that has to do with taxation, the law says you have to register. I guess you could say that I lobby for the taxpayers of Idaho as a group. Our motto is, “It’s YOUR money!” Insidious, isn’t it?

Night.

One more thing: It shows the depths of depravity, and the weakness of my opponents’ abilities, that they think it necessary to delve into my personal life in order to attempt to practice the very Clintonian politics of personal destruction. They can’t win the debate, so they have to cheat.

To: Jim Robinson; All

Heavenly Father I pray that you would give Jim Robinson wisdom and our leaders as well, both republicans and democrats. Please show them the right way to go and to generate a solid conscience, keeping in their intentions what is good for America rather than selfish motives. Please heal Free Republic and our land. Take care of us, Father. In Your son’s name.
