Hard to believe this long after the event we are just getting bits of what appear to be disjointed details.

Very odd.

Thanks.

Unless you’re a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, I didn’t call you a nutjob. In fact, I didn’t call anybody here a nutjob. Read the text again if you must.

Also, in case you missed it, I clearly referred to this as a terrorist act because that’s what it was. That much is plainly obvious to me and many things that present themselves at this point in time do not add up. However, with all of that, I haven’t yet seen substantive evidence to link this to Islam.

Come to think of it, perhaps you didn’t understand a word I wrote.

Geraldo, "A guy with automatic AND semi-automatic weapons IS a weapon of mass destruction"

You're "misquoting, right? That would make him a fool AND an idiot. I'll bet a Franklin that Geraldo has plenty of iron in his closet.

If people are angling towards some kind of Middle East islamobastard terrorism here, I don't buy it.

First of all, if it were terrorism in that manner, this man would have been shouting out a certain well-known religious epithet as he killed people, this would have been his motivation--and he would have been engaged in jihad.

All the eyewitnesses talk about a calm, detached, quiet demeanor to this shooter as he went about his horrid business.

It describes so many mass shootings in the past our country has been plagued with--with no end in sight--as people who just simply flip out.

What is interesting is some eyewitnesses in CNN relate about the very clothes he was wearing (i.e. short sleeved, olive shirt, or black shooting vest, etc), and yet, with that good of a view, nobody will even say what the person himself LOOKED LIKE. (What he white, Asian, middle eastern?). This is strange that we can get down to the very facial expressions of the perp, but not what race he was.

Thanks.

Listening to Shep earlier was interesting..he reported that authorities, local, state and federal are all working on about 5 different theories..and that tonight they really are not able to connect the two shooting scenes.

How long do ballistics tests take?

My worry would be if you got to liberal with everyone having one on campus, lots of people would be shot.

With the way things are now, I think all campus cops should be armed along with certain select others having access to weapons. Sort of like knowing where the fire extinguisher is. I think our society has come to that.

Virgina Tech had a killer on the loose for three hours ...

The part I do not get. If it is only a half-mile to a mile across campus, where was the shooter between the first killing and the spree on the other side of the campus. Most people could crawl a mile on their belly in three hours with plenty of time to spare, so where did he go what did he do for that time?

Or are we looking at separate and not quite coordinated events? Opportunistic Mayhem?

This reeks of planning, forethought, and deliberate execution.

It appears vulenrabilities were studied and taken advantage of, and it is safe to assume that there will be others studying the reaction, any security enhancements, and likely policy reviews conducted on campuses nationwide for similar weaknesses which can be exploited.

Whether this is the vangaurd of jihadi attacks on American schools or not, the lurking jihadis will be studying every reaction for flaws. They have promised to bring Beslan-type slaughter here.

You’re right, not alot of info. It appears we are looking for details on possibly 2 shooters.

Apparently, the man from the 2nd attack was Asian and about 6’ tall.

If AQ targeted campuses, it would be several large campuses at the same time. In addition to maximizing casualties, it would also bring about the closing of every campus in the US, out of fear that their campus was a target as well.

Or the bigger fear is a Beslan-type situation in a large auditorium.

And besides, if a Jihadist does an action, they will go out of their way to let people know that it was an act of Jihad.

Well, I don’t think you “flip out”.....and bring chains with you to secure doors, etc.

This seems to be calculated, in a very odd way. And the bomb threats sure make you wonder if security wasn’t being tested.

I dunno, I haven’t read all of the nearly 4,000 posts on this thread.

It's never a good idea to trust the networks. Fox (or perhaps that's Faux) and CNN in particular seem to like having "experts" on that make gun owners look bad. It's hard to say which is the worst network at this point, they are both milking this tragedy for all its worth (which I expect out of Shepherd Smith after his little performance in Israel, the little twerp). They are also doing plenty of fear-mongering about guns, videogames, movies, etc.

If last year's war in Israel is any indication, you can expect Captain Mascara and crew to seek out some family of a victim, throw a camera in their face, and ask them how they feel, and then keep asking them how they feel, if this is the worst they've felt, what they are going to feel like tomorrow, etc.

The Columbine shooters certainly planned ahead, and I’m pretty sure they “flipped out.”
