I drive through Edwards' hometown of Robbins, NC quite often. I've never seen a sign that says "John Edwards lived here" or somesuch nonsense...even during the 04 elections.
Contrast that with High Point, NC where you can't throw a rock without hitting a "Hometown of Fantasia Barrino" sign...even after she moved away, and embarrassed the town nationally.
People in NC (other than a few like-minded Dems) just don't like Edwards. I saw the same-type thing in Tennessee in 2000 with AlGore.
Yeah....... right.
heh...heh....heh...
two Americas - and on the same block
I think Barak Obama has a “fix” for that.
The day they looked at their property, the couple and several Secret Service agents parked on his land and walked across the street into the woods.Johnson approached the agents and asked what they were doing on his property. "The Secret Service let me know it wasn't my concern," he said.
What jumped out at me was the fact that the Edwardses had SECRET SERVICE AGENTS accompanying them.
What the h*ll are Secret Service agents doing, guarding the Edwardses?
Ok, let's assume this little incident took place during John Edwards's candidacy for VP in 2004. (I don't know if that's when it happened, but I guess candidates do get SS protection.)
But why was the Secret Service needed to go with the Edwardses, property-shopping? It's not like it was an announced, public event.
Never, ever, ever forget that Elizabutt Edwards posts on DU.
Quite proud of it IIRC.
So many Keyboard Kommandos here, huh.
I think we should help Mr. Johnson erect a high voltage barbed wire fence around the part of his property facing the Edwards.
I've been here 3 years -- I've yet to hear any Democrat say they liked the Edwards. So, I have to concur with your assertion about NC.
Your bringing up AlGore and Tennessee is a perfect parallel.
I dunno but I think NCers think "John/Elizabeth Edwards -- C.A.R.Y, NC".
It’s a blessing the Edward’s won’t allow their kids on his property. How would anyone like to next next door to a rabid personal injury attorney?
Well, someone smarter than me once wrote that “good fences make good neighbors”.
