Exactly, and what people like Gore are saying is that so much CO2 is being discharged into the atmosphere, that a greenhouse effect similar to Venus will happen and it will melt the polar ice caps and everyone will drown.
Well that is just absolutely plain ridiculous! Earth is NOT Venus, Venus does not have billions of plants and life forms that use CO2. There is a hell of lot more plants and life forms that use CO2 than cars, people, animals, who use O2.
For example Marilyn Vos Savant who is a brilliant woman once said if you took every person alive in the world today (approx. 6.5 billion) and had them stand side by side like trees do, they would only fill up an area the size of Jacksonville, Florida, or 800 square miles! Well my God, how many forests exist on this planet that are 100 times that size, a 1000 times??
Just the South American rain forest alone covers 40% of that entire continent, about the same size as the ENTIRE United States! And that is just ONE plant system! And this isn`t even counting all the life in the sea that takes up more space than land, algae, plankton, bacteria.
How can people like Al Gore possibly think that a bunch of people and cars that takes up just a tiny fraction of all that space produce so much CO2 that it will overwhelm the entire globe, overtake all the plants and lead to a greehouse effect covering the entire globe?? It`s absolutely ridiculous and impossible! It`s like saying a burp will do more damage than a nuke!
