I frankly do not care what you think about his “status”.

What I care about is the public judgement of this man and the denial of his status when he has done what God advised him to do to become a Christian.

You are not the judge, neither is Dobson. Whether he is all you think he should be is another matter - but the man did become a Christian no matter what you or Dobson think. He was not following your views, he followed what the Bible told him to do and like it or not, that is what counts (for eternal life anyway).

Mr. Dobson was not interviewed as a private citizen - he was interviewed as a proponent of the Christian right.

Also, Mr. Dobson did not contact Mr. Thompson with an apology - Mr. Thompson contacted him and told him to forget about it. That is very telling also.

Again, I don’t think Mr. Dobson handled this well at all. He knows full well what would happen in an interview with the media.

And by the way, I have checked Mr. Thompson’s voting record and it is perfectly in line with what I would expect for a sound thinking conservative and a moral man.

Also, it may be of interest to know that Dr. Dobson received a cordial e-mail from Senator Thompson saying that he was surprised initially upon reading the article by Mr. Gilgoff, but then concluded that Dr. Dobson’s remarks had been grossly misrepresented. He urged Dr. Dobson to dismiss the matter and added that he intended to do the same.

This case is CLOSED as far as I am concerened.... CAN WE GET OVER IT ALREADY ??

I posted the initial article and in addition I contacted Dr. Dobson's office for clarificiation and posted the response, which was I found to be reasonable and acceptable.. The only ones "sturring up" are the ones who OVER REACTED to the article in the first place, before allowing the individual quotted misquotted in the article to respond....
