Spring may be on the way, but it is not here yet.
Lots of snow, ski areas still open...

If the fish isn't caught already battered and fried, Homer isn't interested!

Arctic cooling is caused by carbon offests.

I like most of AK. Homer however is full of liberal idiots. Not completely full, but there are a lot of tree huggers there.

It was -16 this morning; -5 now. The weatherman now says this will last through the weekend again. I have seen it -30 here in March, but not for many years. This is almost like the old days when we were headed for an Ice Age. Last summer wasn't good for the gardens either, too cold all summer.

Wonderful memories of Homer. The Homestead has the best halibut cheeks on this planet ...and those native purple potatoes!
Isn't Homer called "The Banana Belt of Alaska?" What happened?
To: george76
Homer is such a beautiful city. I may have to have some halibut I caught there this past summer!

starting seeds in hopes of getting something to grow this year March 15 is when many start their seeds. They can be put outside 15 May, although last year it was still dicey 15 June and then we had frost the first of August. Hope you can put your seedlings out this year.

We were in Homer in September and I was enchanted! Sounds like a silly word, I guess, but what a place. It was halibut season, and I downed more than my fair share. Mr. Tri caught some to send home.

Better tell your step daughter not move to Fairbanks then. We have had lows of -25 to -40 pretty much straight for the last month.
