Before the authorities arrived they were probably trying to hide the Breck Girls tampax.
Sounds like the Breck Man-Boy needs a new dandruff shampoo.
Did you just call John Edwards a goose? I think that's hate speech.
But seriously, what do you suggest we do? The authorities, such as they are in North Carolina, are investigating the situation, and will continue to do so whether or not FReepers take it seriously.
In the alternative you propose, if a Republican candidate found "white powder" in his headquarters, what would you suggest we do that would be useful? The authorities (such as they are in State X) would investigate, whether FReepers screamed bloody murder or made stupid jokes.
I guess my point is, what positive contribution would our responding with alarum make to the situation? Would it change the outcome in any way?
The same thought process, made by the pajamahadeen, in the President Bush memogate incident might have had serious consequences.
It's not my exclusive province to say what can, or cannot, be done.
My thinking says that this is a very serious issue, no matter who it was perpatrated by, and as such making fun of it, strictly because it was done to/by a DemoncRat is not the way to go.
It's just as serious an issue as when the anthrax was sent to the Senate building.
ROTFLOL!!! Good one!
"President Clinton, how ar...no, it wasn't cocaine. But everyone is fine and...no, I didn't try it to find out. But they are test...no, there is no need to come here. I assure you it isn't cocaine. It might kill me if I do that! No I won't take one for the team."
Hahahaaa! Love that wood paneling, Senator!
Only if it's anthrax. If it's talcum powder, then it's as serious an issue as sending talcum powder to the Senate building. Well, not really, since John Edwards' campaign office isn't a public facility.
But unless it's a harmful substance, then it's a tiresome and tacky hoax, waste of public resources. I agree that's a drag, but it doesn't mean everyone has to be series.
You can't know if it's anthrax until it is checked.
By that time there could be people infected.
It's a terroristic threat and just like any other terroristic threat against any other US citizen, I will take it seriously and think others should as well.
I don't like it that when people poke fun at a terroristic threat just because it happened to someone we don't like.
I see your point. I'll have to think about it some more.
