Y'all had better pray that Fred Thompson doesn't jump in.

Just remember that FR does not represent most of America. Fred Thompson is only known outside of here as a TV star from Law and Order. It's not going to be that easy to convince the rest of the country that he's a real politician regardless of how long he was in the Senate. It's easy to go from Politician to TV Star but not so easy to go the opposite way.

Therin lies Thompson's strength. People are sick of phony politician whores like Rudy and Hillary. Fred's "outsider" perception is going to be a plus for him.

Not the ones I've been talking to on my ping list. They are not thrilled with him and think he's overrated. I don't know where you are getting your info from.

All I really know him as is an actor from "Hunt for Red October".
And I'm very leary of actors, who with the possible exception of John Wayne, are never who they personify on screen. (Clint Eastwood for example)
Has Thompson ever achieved much of anything in the real world? If so, I'm not aware of it.
