The reason I am on the theme - is because I think it is that important. When conservatives flaunt their lack of character - while at the same time - saying that the whole country should listen to them and adhere to their principles - the conservatives will not be listened to.

Do you see meanness as a conservative value?

Hunter-Thompson? That'll be a like a shot out of a cannon, and bring fear and loathing on the left.

I can't see them as true conservatives when they want to be known as haters

You use idioms that only an enemy of conservatism would use. Ann has caused you to "out" yourself. You do realize that, don't you?

Ann is invaluable to the conservative movement.

I betcha Medved won't be piling on. He defended, not so much the remarks by the actor toward a fellow actor and then by the basketball player, but the hysteria that followed.

To me, kindness and common decency are conservative values - values to be conserved.

You are welcome to be kind and decent. But always remember that your vocabulary is shrinking by the day. Don't criticize any of the left's purported victims. You can't disagree with them in any way. Nor can you use certain words because they are so mean and hateful. Don't even use words CLOSE to those "bad" words because that is hateful too.

THAT is more offensive than anything Ann could say.

Ann Coulter has no capacity whatsoever as a representative of the GOP, or conservatives for that matter.

I've been saying this for a long time. She's our version of Michael Moore, and should be treated accordingly.

"Sadly, it appears Hewitt will be shuffling paperwork and handing out numbers."

Can you (or anybody) remember a single thing that Hew Hewitte, the guy from Captain's Quarters, Michele Malkin or any of these other anklebiters have ever said in their long brilliant careers?

Apart from their laughable errors, I can't. 99% of their contribution to the conservative cause is regurgitating other people's research as their own. And then they can't even be bothered to fact-check it enough to keep from making the most asinine errors.

Sadly, this is a naughty world. And the world of conservative "pundits" and hangers on is likewise petty and prone to jealousy.

These people can't understand why regurgitating other peoples' work or GOP talking points doesn't net them lucrative book contracts and speaking fees.

So they lash out at every opportunity.

So many of them are only in it for the money, after all.

She's a writer. She illustrates. She postulates. She puts words to thoughts and shoves them into the public discourse.

Thank God there are still people like her who haven't been muzzled by the Thought Police.

Yet.

Who is this "our" you're talking about?

You surely are not a conservative.

Sorry to say that, on this thread at least, we are decidedly in the minority.

Well - they are choosing to show conservatism as Ann Coulter does then. They must want the country to see conservatives as meanspirited and hateful people.

Coulter is nothing like Michael Moore. Although Coulter is not PC, she makes some pretty good points and wants the best for the USA.

Ha Ha, funny! Now to defend Ann Coulter's lame ass comment at CPAC yesterday you are going to trash Michelle Malkin, Hugh Hewitt and Ed Morrisey. That's laughable. You are stuck defending the indefensible. Can you say rock and hard place???

Actually, they ususally do get book deals.

The books just don't sell like Coulter's do.

Apparently some parts of this country can still discern a little truth amid all the costumes and make-up.

>>The same can be said about the other worthies who are trashing her because they don't have the intelligence to spot a joke.<<

Not appreciating a joke made in poor taste is not the same as not getting it.

You can spin it all you like but all your really doing is using a backhanded way to call anyone who didn't like what she said, stupid.

I'll wait patiently while you dredge through my posting history to come up with another "hypocritical" remark of mine regarding this post.

Of course, you can always cite my screen name again, from where your sitting that never seems to get tired.

I agree. I recognized and excused John Kerry's botched joke about "get stuck in Iraq'" I recognized this as a botched joke, too. Move on.

It does illustrate the difference between how Kerry was defended, but Coulter is vilified. Apparently, people have higher expectations more from a conservative pundit than any Democrat. If I was Edwards, I'd be more insulted by that.

Ann Coulter took 5000 giant leaps backwards yesterday and embarrassed conservatives in the process. That cancels out her thousands of stepe forward.

Compare Coulter's comments with the Lib Maher's comments on his HBO show. No Libs are asked to apologize for his demented comments on his Lib pep rally show.

I mean this in the most polite way, but are you crazy?

What do you mean by character?

You are a rabid Giuliani backer. Giuliani has had numerous wives, numerous mistresses, hired corrupt cronies, and backed partial birth abortion.

And you go after Ann Coulter's character because she made a joke?

You are either a troll or unbalanced.
