On that, my friend, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
No conservative would be saying the things he's saying. We're not that ignorant.
Anyone whos been to town hall meetings knows that Cloture ends debate for a final up down vote. 56 dems and rinos voted to END debate on the war.
If they would just do what you say, you would be right. I agree that the live, no comment debate is their strong suit.
It's the rest that stinks.
EASY SOLUTION... Fast Forward.. LOL
Good point. Love that DVR. :)
The BULK of CSPAN is just live feed from the floor.... that is neither "fair" nor "unfair" is just IS... when the commentator comes hit the FF button....
Cspan is not the most professional operation, that's for sure.
I figure this mis-captioning of the vote is just the result of ignorance and confusion on the part of the caption department. I doubt they're smart enough to deliberately be this malicious.

Senate Republicans block Iraq measure
For the second time in two weeks, Republicans senators halted progress on a nonbinding resolution opposing Bush's recent decision to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the resolution the day before.
The Senate's vote in favor of the resolution was 56-34; four short of the number needed to allow the full Senate to debate the measure.
What a BUNCH of MSM IDIOTS......
BOLD FACE LIES !!!
I intended to steer clear of a general discussion of Washington Journal bias, but couldn't restist. The bias (intentional or otherwise) is a consequence of the Journal's overwhelming reliance on articles in the NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, etc. as a basis for the Question of the Day. That format is inherently stacked against the conservative viewpoint, regardless of the actual commentary.
"....watch the live feeds and forget the rest...."
in THAT ONE WAY (at least to the extent that live feeds are not cut away from or otherwise interfered with or not even broadcast) C-Span is sometimes worth watching
But OTOH, I've seen many "live feeds" heavily edited (always leftward) for the re-runs.
But my point is that if the commentary is slanted heavily to the left, then the network is not 'fair.'
When they show live feed, they may be, and that may be the lion share of the time, but they also make many bad programming choices which show their bias.
The contrast between what was shown when Clinton was president, and with President Bush is alarming. You pretty much have to set your DVR for 3:00 in the morning to catch anything that President Bush does, and even then, they will most likely switch the time so you miss it anyway.
They are anything but 'fair.'

President Responds to Senate Action
For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
February 17, 2007
Statement on Failure of Senate Procedural Motion
The United States Senate conducted a procedural vote today involving a nonbinding resolution identical to one approved yesterday by the House of Representatives. The procedural motion supported by Senate leadership failed.
Both Houses of Congress within a matter of weeks will conduct binding votes on a matter of cardinal importance for America's future security and global credibility: whether to fund the President's supplemental funding request for our military. The President urges both Houses to approve his request. This would provide not only for much-needed reinforcements to aid American servicemen and women in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with funding for equipment, training, armor and other battlefield essentials. It would support increases in the end-strength of the Army and Marines; provide for the replacement of worn-out equipment and for the deployment of next-generation weaponry, transport and force protection. It would enable the world's most capable military force to remain the most advanced in terms of training, equipment, doctrine - and most importantly, the quality of the men and women who serve.
This week's voting gave the world a glimpse of democracy's vigor. The next votes should provide unmistakable assurance of this nation's resolve in achieving success, supporting the cause of democracy, and stopping terrorist forces in their ultimate aim of bringing their violence to our shores.

And after President Bush took office cspan changed their phone lines so that only one-third of the calls "Support Pres Bush" and one-half of those are the "I'm a Republican, but" category. So actually about one in six phone calls is not negative to conservative perspectives.
It seems to me that ever since cspan started adding their own news capsule headlines at the bottom of the screen, the words could have been written by anyone at CNN or MSNBC. If these news editors think that they have no bias, then they have no insight as to what straight reporting is.
ding,ding,ding....you are definitely a winner!!!
I was thinking the same as I read all the posts. Sometimes they can't help but go a little too far, insisting that biased media outlets are fair.
C-Span shuns the Presidents pressers in favor of basement mock impeachment hearing by loons like Conyers.
Great post, but, the President is not alone. He`s got the troops, Freepers and Sam Johnson. That almost makes it a fair fight!
C-SPAN's caption: A distinction without a difference.
Your thread: Much ado about nothing.
