Here in Atlanta (the home of the Blather Channel and Miss Heidi Cullen) we are enjoying high temps today in the 30's and look forward to lows in the low 20's this weekend after this latest front moves through.
DARN THAT GLOBAL WARMING!!!
Funny thing was that Tim Wirth was spouting this global warming nonsense exactly 10-12 years ago when I was living in Southern California. Better yet, anyone reading this remember back in 1991 when Ted Danson warned that if we didn't clean up our environment that we would lose our rivers in about 10 years???
"In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish."
- Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day 1970
" We've got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing -- in terms of economic socialism and environmental policy."
- Timothy Wirth, former U.S. Senator (D-Colorado)
You should do some blog-reading and find out how badly the "must read" article messes up some really basic scientific points.
fair enough. Can you specify some blogs, or are they easy to find just google searching?
Google might not pick all of them up. I'll grab a couple to get you started. (Monckton actually threatened to sue some of the more, ahem, unkind critics.)
This is a dazzling debunking of climate change science. It is also wildly wrong
Chinese Navy disproves Global Warming
Shine on shine on Monckton's moon
Monckton and Monbiot in the Grauniad
Cuckoo science (perhaps the best explanation of one of the key errors)
The problem with basing a set of arguments on a few key points is that if one of the key points is wildly wrong, the whole thing collapses.
