I love when the teachers get it. We have several great teachers in our public school, mixed in with others who are totally clueless.
My son's second grade teacher was an elderly woman who returned to public school after her "retirement." It was Christmastime and she knew she was not allowed to tell the Christmas story, but also knew that her students could. She sat her second grade class down for a "holiday" discussion. She asked which holiday the children celebrate in their home. 100% of the kids said "Christmas."
She then asked the kids why they celebrated Christmas, asked who Jesus was, asked why he came and eventually asked why he had to die. Every comment was given by a kid and she simply facilitated the discussion.

After my Mom passed away last December, I found amoung her things....a red pocket-sized Gideons New Testament that was given to me IN SCHOOL when I was in the 5th grade, 1969. She had kept it all these years. It is something I will always cherish.

I like to give Bible dedications to people who have 'everything' already. I've done it for retirements, for promotions, any occasion to honor someone. The Gideons even have special honor cards that they send me to
order more.

Why cant people do what I do. When you are given religious items (except Catholic which is what I am). Graciously accept the item and then walk to the nearest garbage can and throw it away. How hard is it??????
