Actually it might be even more suspicious given that it was in a smaller JC type college lot. Easier to notice than in a big school lot, which would almost never have any sections completely empty, especially at a research school like Stanford, with grad students coming and going at all hours. At a smaller 2 year school, virtually no one is going to be there at night.
What, she locked herself in the trunk and then committed suicide?
Yeah, and they ignored a chance to ticket a car without the proper parking sticker?
This is a far reach for being related, but I ran across it earlier and wondered at the name....granny
reach, but the name is the same as the lady found dead in her car trunk, in california, see post 2999...granny]

Zhou's Arrest Linked to Pension Fund Scandal - Winny Wang

From Shanghai Daily:
Shanghai property tycoon Zhou Zhengyi was arrested on Sunday after prosecutors found evidence linking him to the pension fund scandal, Shanghai People's Procuratorate said yesterday.
Prosecutors discovered that Zhou was suspect of bribery and falsification of value-added tax invoices during their investigation into the city's pension fund scandal, the Procuratorate said.
Zhou is still wanted by Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption, which accuses him of rigging stock prices when he controlled the then Hong Kong-listed Shanghai Land Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Nongkai.[Full Text]

I can't imagine chosing the trunk of a car in which to commit suicide. Having said that the owner of my fitness club jumped into a dumpster and shot himself.
Very odd ... and sad.

No foul play suspected.
FYI, I live in Santa Rosa, and the police force is excellent, probably the best in the entire Bay Area.
I also live very close to the JC, and the scenario is very likely that she did commit suicide. It's a pretty quiet town.
What about the guy who was beaten and locked in a car trunk a couple of weeks ago? Any possible connection?
I didn't hear of that. The Press Democrat is a really awful paper here. They are run by the nyt.
So, I don't check it very often.
As other people said, Santa Rosa is a very small town. There are a lot of illegals that have moved in, thankfully there's still an American working class here, unlike San Francisco, which only has an illegal working class.
Most of the problems here are caused by illegals.
Why was she in her trunk?
How did she die if there was no bodily harm?
Was "it being the first time she got below an A" REALLY the reason a girl with promising discoveries in medicine and science really the reason a girl like her would kill herself?
Why was she at the JC?
Who did/n't she know?
Answer me these questions, most of all why, and I'll feel satisfied. At the moment I don't believe for a second that this was a suicide or a "drug thing".
Your questions, and my answers:
Why was she in her trunk? She probably didn't want to be found to be resuscitated.
How did she die if there was no bodily harm? Poisoning, or carbon monoxide.
Was "it being the first time she got below an A" REALLY the reason a girl with promising discoveries in medicine and science really the reason a girl like her would kill herself? I don't know where you read that in the story. She was a smart girl, but didn't have any 'promising discoveries in medicine and science.' Not getting an A (of which there's no evidence yet) doesn't cause people, even under pressure, to commit suicide. The truth is that suicide is a mental disorder, and mysterious. Sometimes there are no good answers.
Why was she at the JC? Again, probably to avoid being found until it was too late.
Who did/n't she know? That I can't answer. She knew me, and she knew a lot of people who cared enough to help if she had asked.
"Answer me these questions, most of all why, and I'll feel satisfied. At the moment I don't believe for a second that this was a suicide or a "drug thing"." There probably is no "why" - people who commit suicide don't have reasons. It's not like the conversation is "well, my life sucks, I can either go to Starbucks or kill myself." THis isn't a rational considered process, and that's part of what makes it so sad.
