My defense? You mean, the jury's verdict. The system worked...the appeal is next.
You're 66% wrong, as usual.
It would appear you have no defendable position regarding this thread, as usual.
Compean and Ramos say the smuggler had a gun, but no weapon was found.
If this is true, then they behaved criminally.
As much as I hate illegal immigration, we can't allow our border patrol agents to act without accountability to law.
Seems they just moved him from one Godless nation to another.
He brought suit to clear his name but the Federal judge basically eliminated his witness list.
Isn't it just handy and dandy for judges to have this kind of power.
OPINION
The legal system is hopelessly broken.
Available to the highest bidder, beholden to the Federal Reserve system to bring more bodies in to leech off of.
Judges: Nope...can't have that witness, not that document, can't ask that, can't say that....ad nauseum
OPINION Committing felonies puts you at risk of the legal system. Don't commit felonies.
Even the 9th Circus won't rein him in.
Professional courtesy you know.
Aldrete Davila contacted his "friend" Rene Sanchez after he had escaped to the other side of the border (one or two days later) and told him about his encounter with the BP. Sanchez, (who works for the BP himself) was the one who then contacted the DHS about the incident. It is simply Aldrete-Davila's word (after the fact), and his word alone that he was unarmed at the time.
Now if you actually want to believe that a major narcotics trafficker like Aldrete-Davila was was actually unarmed while attempting to illegally smuggle nearly 800 lbs of narcotics across our border then I have some really nice swampland I'd like you to invest in.
Geez, untwist your panties. I didn't say anything about this guy being armed or unarmed. I merely said if what was reported in the article was true, the agents acted criminally. You can't deny that what I said is true.
Myth: ALDRETE HAD A GUN AND THE AGENTS ONLY FIRED IN SELF DEFENSEReality: Trial testimony from other Border Patrol agents who were at the scene and who arrived shortly after the shooting shows that this is not true. Testimony further revealed that Agents Compean and Ramos never took cover nor did they ever warn the other agents to take cover. This action demonstrates that they did not perceive a threat. In his statement to investigators, Compean admitted that Aldrete had attempted to surrender with both hands open and in the air. Had Agents Compean and Ramos truly believed Aldrete was a threat, they would not have abandoned him after the shooting and they would have warned their fellow agents who arrived at the scene to stay out of the open while an armed suspect was on the loose. If the agents had believed that the shooting was justified then they would have left the crime scene undisturbed and let the investigation absolve them. The agents knew that Aldrete did not have a weapon and they knew he posed no threat to them as he fled. Agent Juarez also testified that Aldrete was surrendering to Compean with his hands open and empty palms turned to Compean.
You may prefer parking lot justice.. I'll take the
rule of law and the verdict of a duly sworn jury
which at least can be argued in appeal.
Like the OJ case?
